Would be good but crashes every time
JdPdx77

This would be a good app - started a free trial of premium version to download maps for offline use while bike touring in Hungary. Even though I had a local SIM card and was using this app in offline mode (ie Airplane mode on iPhone 7), the app would crash every time I tried to open it in Airplane mode (wildly flickering screen like an old Tv, have never before seen such a crash on an iPhone short of a bad logic board which my phone definitely does not have). Would have to close app, turn on cell service, then reopen app for it to open properly- all of which defeats the purpose of premium account for offline use. Additionally the app in offline or online use would eat through my battery very quickly. If the app functioned properly, which it did not, it would be a nice app for cycle touring. Fix the app’s functionality and I’d give it 5 stars.

Inaccurate
AnnaBikesALot

Had an awful experience using Bike Map while touring in Norway. Our initial Bike map had us get on the interstate (which is illegal and dangerous), Google maps got us onto a nice, paved bike trail that was more direct and much safer. We tried it again as we went further north, and the segment that we were looking at was quite mountainous. The map had literally a straight line from one town to the city 30 miles away. Even if we took the highway, there’s no way that a straight line would exist in that terrain. Poorly created maps that are not accurate when on the ground.

Planning a tour? Look no further.

Bikemap is the place where all of my bike tours start. The route planner is super useful and the app is feature packed. Plus the dev and support team is super responsive and open to suggestions! All in all it’s a great tool I wouldn’t want to ride without.

Was sent email to ‘go premium’ so checked out Reviews: All are Ancient! Also Responses from ‘Astrid’ are all basically the same making it appear like no one has used this in Months/Years! Before I plunk-down my hard-earned cash I want to know what RECENT Experiences are! Keep going, I NEED something like this and I wish you well!

Illogical search result sorting
rus_sel

Why would a bicycle app sort by who-knows-what where “results” that are 2000 miles away are presented before those that are 5 blocks away? Is it common for someone on a bicycle to select a 2000 mile destination? Glad I haven’t paid for this yet, as I still have to use other apps to actually find destinations and then round trip to this for routing.

Looks like just the app but one problem
TonyB48

I haven’t used this yet but im hoping to give it a 5 star review. Just one problem. When I put a route in, how do you cancel the current route and put a new one in. I have to close and start over again. Thanks!

Can’t login
Amkempter

I like the app and have used it to navigate places in the past, but I have an account that I can use on the web page version but the iOS version won’t let me login unless I use Facebook. Every time I put in my account details it says it wants to use Facebook to login and fails to log me is with my email address. Very frustrating.

Zero worth. Navigation is useless. Map data embarrassingly outdated. Risks making cycling a true misery if one relies on this crap-tastic app. Money wasted; you can never say you weren’t told.
