Better Notes + Lists and Todos

Productivity Free Better Notes, LLC iPhone, iPad, iPod

This is a different kind of notes app. Simpler. Smarter. Better.

You can type #hashtags into your notes to organize them.

#hashtags link all the tagged notes together—tap on any to see them all.

We'll find any phone numbers, email addresses, or links in your notes, too, and you can tap on those to call, email, or go to the web.

A dash and then a space makes a list—you can tap the dash later to cross things off.

Attach #photos of things you’d like to remember—receipts, screenshots of directions, shoes in a shoe store. Whatever makes sense for you. Tap little photos to make ‘em bigger. Swipe down on big photos to make ‘em smaller.

We hope this app helps you capture the thoughts that are important to you—thank you so much for giving it a try.

This would be a great app except that it keeps losing my notes. If I do not exit a note, the note ends up gone. I’ve unfortunately lost a few important notes over the last month.

Best app for thoughts and ideas!
wng132

First review ever for an app! But it’s because I enjoy Better Notes so much that I wanted to share my experience on it. It’s actually perfect for me! I love the simplicity of the design as well as how incredibly easy it is to use. It feels very natural. I get random thoughts and ideas in my head all the time and at random times of the day as well and Better Notes makes it very easy for me to put down those thoughts and ideas. I’ve tried other note-taking apps and it just doesn’t compare to Better Notes because they all feel too complicated with too many features imo. I love that when I put down my thoughts and/or ideas that everything gets separated and my thoughts and ideas aren’t all lumped into one page like all the other note apps I’ve tried. My thoughts/ideas don’t take up a whole page so it’s really nice that Better Notes formats their individual pages the size of however long my thought or idea is and without me seeing a bunch of extra space if that makes any sense lol. It’s almost like writing on a sticky note rather than a standard 8x11 paper. And lastly I LOVE that I can organize my thoughts and ideas with hashtags. I know, I know. There’s other note apps that have that feature too but Better Notes is just better to me. TO THE DEVELOPERS OF BETTER NOTES IF YOU’RE READING THIS: I wouldn’t change a single thing! There are two things I would add though: a passcode and a version to install on the Mac OS.

Greatest if you think simply, like me.

Have you so many different complicated and simple no takers and I like this one the best because it’s just straightforward yet it does things like say remembers it out some things I would like it to do. And the #connection Makes it so simple. Give it a try I think you’ll like it.

Great app!

Update to iPhone x was awesome. Archive feature is neat! I hope the developers keep updating the app

Virtually abandoned
xJTWx

While I appreciate the developer finally releasing an update to make the app compatible with + size and X size screens, the sad truth is that this formerly great note-taking app was and has been all but abandoned, making it a risky investment of your notes, even at the price of free. Check their social media. No updates since 2016. Thankfully, the app does have a bulk PDF export, so the notes can be exported, but any substantial effort put into organizing the notes feels like a waste of effort, as the PDF export is all-or-nothing. It’s a good app. It had a lot of potential. It really it better than the average for simple note taking. But there’s no desktop app to sync to, and there’s no CSV or XML export to maximize your data portability. Perhaps the developer will respond to this review with a new commitment to development, but if they don’t, I would recommend (the free) OneNote, (the over priced) Evernote, or (the very slowly developed) Bear.

simple powerful

It’s simplicity and efficiency make this one of most used apps on my phone. It’s restriction of not having too many options ensures quickness, focus, and ease of use to get things accomplished fast.

Perfect so far

I am an irrational thinker sometimes and I think that this app can be useful for noting when I have an irrational thought so that I can log it in and be more mindful of my thoughts throughout the day.

the best notes app
egoheads

I have used a lot of note alps and I am a visual person (art history major) and I have not found the right kind of UI yet. However, I really like your app. It reminds me of Bear but I like that is not cluttered and you can add right from the big box but still sort with #hashtags. I have used Simplenote but no photos. Notebook is good but too clunky to see different notes. Your app has reminders and saves full-size photos. I love it!!
