More frustrating than fun.

I currently have 600+ battles. I can tell you this game can be fun, but in the end is more frustrating. Boats are matched based on “infamy” rank. Basically a scale that follows battles won. Win and infamy goes up, loose and it drops. This matching is all wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. And others have been reviewing this same problem for some time so the developers are not going to change it. Boats need to be matched based on how strongly they are outfitted. Low infamy players can have epic outfitted boats, because they paid real money, matched against other low infamy players with basic weapons. It doesn’t work. It’s fish in a barrel. And unless the fish pay real cash they will get creamed over and over. Frustration. But a money maker for developers as players shell out real cash in frustration just to try to build their boats to a level that they don’t get creamed over and over. Watch out for the 200 infamy mark. Crossing it pits you against jacked up boats as high as 400 infamy. Only to be crushed back down the ladder to under 200. Then you will climb again and cross over only to be kicked back down. It becomes a yo yo and you will realize it’s more frustrating than it’s worth. Another reason infamy matching doesn’t work. Developers can solve this black mark on the game. Create algorithms that match boats based on similar weapons level and maybe it might be a fair game and actually be more fun than frustrating.

The good: Love the movement controls....if you’ve ever driven a boat, they got pretty close. If you’re looking for precise, responsive controls....that’s not how boats work. The bad: Matchmaking is truly aweful. Rarely do you see evenly-matched teams, and most matches are over quickly, with one team dominating the other. You’ll see level 8 boats matched against level 30, where they don’t stand a chance. Sometimes you’ll have imaging stats on. 10-game loosing streak because you’re matches with cannon-fodder as teammates. It’ s just a an overall fail at team-balance.
Ranked battles

I always try to do rank battles. I’ve tried and the game will always have me on hold. One day I tried to see how long it would take for me to get a battle and my record is 2 hours and never played. Ridiculous
Only fun at low levels

It’s a fun game at low levels. Fight battles, level up your ship, pretty typical game style. But when you get to higher levels, 2 months of play for me, it takes 2 to 5 minutes to find a battle to join. It feels like work trying to battle and earn resources. I wasted a lot of time playing this game, just to delete it when I get to higher levels because it’s unplayable at higher levels.
Serious problem

I love the game and it’s concept but the one problem I’m having is I literally can NOT progress through the game at this point due to the simple fact that NO ONE PLAYS IN RANK. I kid you not an entire HOUR HAS PASSED while waiting for a match to happen but it NEVER HAPPENED. Everyone keeps playing “Casual” where there is no consequences for losing while on the the other hand losing in rank does. I am literally forced to play in casual if I want to make money and finish quest which is just sad at this point.
