Great app

This great for players of all ages. Now when my son asks to play a game on my phone he goes to the Basiqs app. He is entertained and learning at the same time.

Customer Support

App is very promising but unable to get customer support. Need verification code to register if players are 13 or younger. Sent several request with no response.

So far, so good- There’s room for improvement.

Having used this app for about fifteen minutes, I’ve made a few conclusions and critiques; hope this review provides some helpful insight. This app looks to be a solid representation of baseball situations. After creating your profile, you are provided with two options: Game or Practice. After clicking a mode, you choose a position to play for the duration of the Game or Practice. Practice mode provides you with a situation, showing runners on base and outs. After clicking ‘Pitch’, the screen displays a hit to a position (accompanied by the type of hit, such as grounder, line drive, pop-up, etc.). Practice mode then gives you instructions on what your positions job is in the given play. Other helpful tips are also shown regarding the play. As for ‘Game’, it is nearly the same, however, you are quizzed on the situation. You must choose from multiple choices to test how well you know your baseball IQ. Critique: I came for a mode that would provide some insight as to what ALL the players would do. In Practice and Game, it simply tells you what your position does, and NOT the others. These situations are not tailored to your position, so as a center fielder for instance, there maybe only one or two plays in an entire practice rotation of roughly 9 plays that even involve a throw. Essentially in this center fielder scenario, you are provided with lots of situation where you are simply given the answer: “Backup the play in the infield”. It still doesn’t show you what the infields should do. Dev Recommendation: I would recommend adding info once what EVERY position does in a given play. Tailor the plays to the position picked by the app-user so you aren’t stuck with a bunch of unecessary plays that are (nearly) irrelevant to a position. This would greatly improve my usage of this app and probably help me to quiz myself more efficiently. Hopefully this helps!

Nothing like it, but wrong answers

Interface is quite good. Not perfect. Some issues with button colors and making it look better/more intuitive. Needs an easy way to exit/save in the middle of a game/quiz to main nav. Ex: colors are overused and it’s difficult to discern what’s a button and what’s an answer sometimes. As another user indicated, there’s STILL an error on a Gball to 3B. SS Covers 2? Nope. SS Covers third? NOPE. SS backs up third FIRST, then moves to cover third, if necessary. Fixing Little nuances to the game answers would boost my rating to a 5/5. Last thing: I don’t see an option to turn off hitting sound. My phone is on silent, game should be on silent. Overall, very good, usable, but not a knock it out of the park solution.

Helpful strategy tool. Clean interface.

Lots of good situations and scenarios.

Awesome. Nothing like it. (I might be biased!)

Great way for coach to connect to her/his athletes "where" they are!

Smart idea

Really cool way to get tips on defensive plays/smartest ways to play. “Play a game mode” is almost like a multiple choice fashion. Better with a coach connection to get more personalized learning!

Helpful bust wrong answers

The game is useful, but the answers are not all correct. ex: situation Runner on 1st 1out and your SS, on groundball to 3rd - Answer: Cover 2nd? No, move towards the ball incase 3rd boots it, 2nd basemen will cover 2nd for double play. There were more like that
