Walkers undergo rigorous screening and training that begins with a six-point background check.
We carry full insurance and bond, protecting your home and pet while under our care.
Note: continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. This app may use your location even when it isn’t open, which can decrease device battery life.

A great app where you can schedule walks, communicate with the walker, receive pictures and more. Washington, D.C. locally founded! They train walkers online and walkers get compensated really well which says a lot about them because they care for your pet and only want the best!

But these guys are awesome! Been a user from their early days and have always respected their hustle. From a tech side they may not always be perfect but they are super responsive, have great customer support, are always looking for feedback and ideas for how to improve and lastly — they do the right thing. That I think alone sets them apart from the bigger guys.
Nice walkers but poor technology

I have used Barkley for probably a year now. My dog also wears a Whistle GPS tracker. This device tracks activity after about 2-3mins of continuous movement. Often, when I pay for a 60-min walk, I wind up getting a 40-min walk according to the Whistle. This is likely since Barkley walkers “start” the walk as they are approaching my condo (so the 60-min clock is ticking) and then they likely “end” the walk when they have already left my dog (more montes of not actually walking my dog). And when I show them screenshots of my Whistle activity, they respond “sorry we trust our technology.” What they need to do is have their walkers actually “start” the walk when they get to the dog and “end” the walk when they return. Not a good system and I will be choosing someone else after next week.

This is a great app and fantastic service. We used Barkly in Baltimore and it was truly a godsend. The walkers are top notch. I love being able to know when the walker arrives and the photo. It’s so easy to schedule through the app. Keep up the great work!
