Can't say why it doesn't work for other people, but it works just fine for me (3GS v4.2). Volume gets nice and loud, and the recordings are pretty good. A 3-Star App, plus one cause its free.

Well really it is me messing with the boxer that loves it I put it on a speaker dock,turn the volume up and watch him go crazy
