Could Be Better!!

Curtsong

I already have BB on my computer. I think it's a tremendous practice tool. I use it all the time. Thinking that this app would be a great practice tool as well while I'm on the go, traveling or waiting on the gig, or vacationing. . . etc. I understand the purpose for using the band in the box server to load up your arrangements. I'm all in favor for protecting software piracy or even song file piracy. However, I do not see the point of not being able to change the key, tempo or audio, volume settings or any parameters of a song file once it's loaded to the mobile app. Once you load the song from your computer to your mobile app, you can't make changes to these parameters. It would be a more useful tool if I were able to change the tempo on a set of changes I'm working on, or the key. At least. What a waist of time!! Why do I want to use the mobile app only at home when I can use the BB on my home computer? Ridiculous IMHO. Please make changes. I only upgraded to your 2012 software so I can utilize the mobile app and continue to practice these progressions while traveling. Thank You.

Bad app

App did not function on my iPhone even though Band-in-a-Box works great on my PC. I would suggest no one waste their money on this app.

Used Spashtop to play Band-in-a-box

I have the app on an iPhone 4 and an iPad 3. To get the app to work, I had some annoying technical hurdles to overcome. I expect that many will not like it for that reason. But I got it to work on Wi-Fi and 3G. For me, the big issue is this. I'm going to use Splashtop to play Band-in-a-box (BIAB) on my devices. Splashtop gives me 3-4G and Wi-Fi access to my desktop on my iPhone and iPad. That means I have access to the full BIAB program on my computer (and everything else). I set up Splashtop on my iPhone and iPad, and it was much easier for me. Using Splashtop, I was able to use BIAB on both devices and over 3G on my iPhone. Splashtop sends high definition audio, and BIAB sounded fine over my devices. It sounded very good over a home stereo using 3G on my iPhone. Maybe the sound quality might not be good enough for some pro purposes, but one needs to test it out to see. Anyway, I have access to my desktop, so it is possible to render a file and send it to myself. So Splashtop (it was only $1.99 for my iPhone) might be a superior alternative for some, like me.

Huge disappointment. I've elected to just use BIAB on my notebook computer.

Far from prime time!

I'm a long-time BIAB user on Mac. The Mac version has always lagged behind the PC version, but still very useful! I was excited to know there was an iOS version, but it's almost worthless! To change ANY parameters; chord, key, anticipation, form, etc. it has to access a "server" in your computer! No local processing whatsoever! Do yourself a favor and get iReal b which has a better interface and display of chord charts! Peter Gannon innovated the whole instant-band from chords idea, but this App is a FAIL!

Very inconvenient and of poor quality you should be able to play the chords you input without wifi

I shouldn't have to have wifi to use an app on my phone when I own band in a box the full software

Works well

Needs a prefs for remaining open when app is open. Continual closing is annoying, otherwise does what it suppose to do. Lets me take the band in the box songs from my computer with me so I can practice.

I don't think they could have made this more complicated if they tried. I'm pretty techy and this made NO sense to me!
