Fun game

I learned this game in HS and have fun playing it with some old buddies, but I have one problem with it. You don't have a chance to choose a last number if your opponent wins. Example being if your opponent guesses your number in 5 attempts, and you've only made 4 guesses, you should get one more chance to guess their number. The game would then end in a tie. I think that's the fair way to play it. At least that's how I originally learned it.

I, too, learned this game back in the 70s during high school (on paper) and have played it religiously ever since. However, one crucial rule has been omitted from your instructions as well as your programming: NO digits in the number can repeat. For example, a player may not choose 553 for the opponent to guess. Each digit must be different, otherwise using the process of elimination with the clues loses it's meaning! I hope you correct this soon.
