I’m learning how to play so it’s nice to be able to practice and learn strategy at the same time

This game is fine if you’re just looking to kill time, but whatever you do, don’t spend real money to buy chips. The game is rigged. The only thing random about it is who you play. I have polled MANY players on another website and every established player had a win ratio of about 51 or 52%. Pay attention to how many times you roll doubles when on the bar. I had an opponent roll doubles 7 times in a row to come from behind and beat me. Count them - 7. The odds of that are 0.0003572%. The real tell tale sign happens when you can start predicting the rolls: you know the exact roll your opponent needs and behold, he rolls it. The purpose of this app is to try and get you to purchase chips, it is not designed for good old fashioned competitive fun. If you don’t mind wasting time give it a go, just don’t waste your money.

Though the board interface is well constructed and easy to use, the dice program is the absolute worst dice ever. I would give ZERO stars if that was possible. The dice rolls to begin the game is almost always are two doubles. That should tell the tale of this app. If you hit an opponent, there is an almost 90% chance your opp gets doubles and a double hit on you. If you get hit early in the game, expect that 80% of the time, you will either roll double sixes and roll three or four times before you get on the board, but when you hit your opponent and there is only one point they can get in on, they will get it with a double and a double hit - perfect rolls. Oh yes, and almost all opponents are bots, even when it appears to be a real person. I was playing what appeared to be a woman named Diana (with a real picture of a red headed woman) when the program blipped and disconnected me. When it reconnected me to the game, the woman had turned into a bot named Oopa (with the cartoon photo of a bot). Then when the game was over and it showed the final score, it showed Diana, again. When you are within a few rolls of winning a hard-fought game, expect that the app will disconnect you and therefore, you time out and lose. I have played championship-level backgammon for over forty years. There is no such thing as perfect electronic dice. This app’s board interface is the best I have ever seen, but this is the absolute worst dice program I have ever encountered. I stopped playing to win and spent the last few months playing to beat the app’s odds and collect statistics. After a short time, I just realized it was not worth anything and deleted this ridiculous app. It is a shame because the board interfere is great and well thought out. Summary: Do not waste your time playing here and do not ever purchase from this app. It is a waste of your money and a complete waste of your time. I love backgammon, but would rather never play the game again than play on this app. Steer clear!!
