Fun times

Love this game! Been playing it for months. Great game!

Needs updates

Needs automatic close out and undo should not mean reroll but undo tile placement.

Poor Customer Enjoyment

reviewguy15

Being a Backgammon player for 30+years, I was thrilled to install and play. However, in all of those years playing, I've never had an opponent be "so lucky". Example: Rolling perfect dice to hit my blots everytime, or to escape blocking, throwing multiple doubles throughout the game, especially throwing up to four or five consecutive doubles to win a game, when you can't even 'throw' one double - nearly always coming in to the board after being hit, even when there is only one available point to come in on. On the "player side", rarely do you get a double rolled. If you are on the bar, good luck at getting in quickly, even when there's several points available. When counting off at the end to try and win and you have open points, that's the numbers your dice will throw causing only one piece or none to be taken of, each throw. All in all a badly designed program that represents unrealistic gameplay, which for beginners could turn them off such a classical and fun game. I give one star for the "appearance" of the board and visuals, but a big thumbs down on the one sided game play. Someone should fire the program design department!

Computer cheats!! Luckiest roll of dice - ever!!

Player is a constant loser

naattaa

Never been a poor loser but this game is totally slanted to the computer and it got old very quickly, dumping it into the digital round file

Disappointed

First of all, the 'undo' button makes you roll again instead of just undoing piece placement! Secondly, the randomness of the rolls in the computer vs. the human player seems to favor the computer. This game version is not conducive to enjoying playing the game.

Better then other backgammon games but.....

RockManTexas

Like others I have noted the extreme luck of the computer rolls. While I win frequently, the computer will never double you. This makes a blow out win by the computer longer than it needs to be. There is another flaw in that if you want to move a piece to its original place to reconsider your options it moves the piece back but now you must roll again. The purist in me views this as cheating. There are several holes in this game that need to be addressed. UPDATE: I had to delete this game after giving it poor review because I never won after I wrote it. IF YOU GIVE THIS GAME A POOR REVIEW, THE GAME WILL GIVE THE GAME TO THE COMPUTER ROUGHLY 85% OF THE TIME. So if you want to play with a somewhat even playing field do not give this game anything but a stellar review or you may as well quit playing. As I didn't change the number of stars with this update I fully expect I won't win another game.

Computer Rigs The Game

Jcwest21

One of the first things I noticed about the game is that the computer cheats. It will constantly give itself doubles, when you get none. It will say you have no usable moves, when you can see the dice and you clearly have moves. And it will change the way the dice land after the roll is complete. All that being said, I still enjoy the game. When you block the possible moves with a good defense you can still win. Knowing you beat a rigged game is fun. Kind of reminds me of the Kobayasi Maru - LOL

Not bad

Stones_fan

Not a bad game of backgammon. I may prefer Mobivention's bg gold or XG Mobile's free bg (though buggy), but this one is okay too. One thing I found odd: the Undo button doesn't take back your move to be redone but rather rolls a completely different pair of dice.

Not bad for a free game

On_the_coast

Dice rolls don't always seem random and when you undo a move, the dice roll also is reset. But for a free game, it's still pretty fun.
