→ Signing increases your baby’s self-esteem by letting her communicate her needs in ways other than crying.

→ Signing with your child builds mutual trust and enhances the bond between you.

With over 200 words, Baby Sign includes everything a baby is likely to see, experience and feel. Categories include feelings, people, bedtime-dressing and food-kitchen among many others.

Baffled
Teamhendrix

I downloaded the free version to see if I liked this app before I downloaded the paid version. I looked at the signs and am completely confused: purple, number 8, alligator??how are these signs useful when you're just beginning sign language with a child? I realize the paid version would likely have more of the signs I need to start (hurt? Eat?), but I'm so irritated I'm thinking I'll pass. Wouldn't it be more constructive to give some of the first useful signs in your free version in order to get your users "hooked" so that they'd want to buy more?

Food??
JayBird817

Like others, I am very disappointed in this lite app. I'm looking for the very basics. Would it have killed you to give us more generic - and dare I ask - healthy food options than "bacon" and "ice cream"? How about simply "food"?

not useful
vmpuglisi

I downloaded this to get a useful sign to see if I could teach it to my baby before buying the full version. I figured there might be a few useful words to start with. Instead, there were all inane words that I would not need to use in "conversation" with my baby for a while. Completely useless!

Stinks
Justwannasign

They give you absolutely no useful signs in this lite app. Clearly the goal is to make you pay for the real app. But why not throw us a bone like eat, sleep or one or two useful words? Alligator and bacon are not likely to whet my babysigning appetite! Think it through people! This just makes me annoyed and over it.

Quiz feature - useless
Kristiejo

I realize they don't want to give away the basic words (eat, food, more). But why would the quiz feature give me two options that were both wrong answers -that helps no one. Nothing that I saw in this lite version makes me want to spend money on a more complete list of more useful words.

Good idea, a little lacking in execution
dav3ston3

I think this app leverages video well, but they need to fix the quiz bug before I buy (currently only two answers are visible - the third option is hidden at the bottom).

Not an accurate sample of a great application
orthovector

the quiz section of this fine application only contains 2 choices when it ought to show 3 choices. Although the free version is only a sample, it ought to be an accurate sample of the full and complete version. Nevertheless, I'd give this application 5 STARS

Delivery method ok but not a useful free app
caniso13

As others mentioned the quiz bug is very annoying. This should be repaired in the free version. Also there are numerous basic signs such as milk, bottle, more, please, thank you that should be covered in the free app

Awesome App!!!
handbananamommy

I was looking for a sign language app that was more than drawings or pictures. This app is awesome!!! This is the lite version and I didn't expect it to have everything I was looking for. I just wanted to try it out to see how the app worked and to see if I liked it. I will be buying the full version right now. A few great features of this app are that it shows a real person demonstrating the sign and there is a quiz on guessing what the sign is like flash cards which our 21 month old is really into right now.
