Login Issues

Wyatt's Tech Corner

I’ve used Automatic since the original and never had much issue with the app working. Now since the new version Automatic CCA it constantly logs me out then when I try to log back in it can’t. Then I close the app and restart it and I’m magically logged in again. Then there’s the other issue of if it logs me in it stays stuck on a login page.

Causes my car alarm to sound

Tasticks

I had this app for 24 hours. My dealership literally installed it free of charge yesterday. Upon exiting and locking my BMW X4, the alarm sounds and lights flash within about 10 seconds. It’s quite embarrassing and an inconvenience to have to return to the car. There’s obviously some kind of glitch. I don’t have the patience to troubleshoot and my dealership is located over 20 miles from my house. Thanks, but no thanks.

Excellent App but Widgets option gone

Deathmetalpat

This apps work well,I have no issues with it alerting me and had a major check engine problem one time.It alerted me and helped with telling mechanic what the problem was.The new update is excellent but I can add it as a side widget. It disappeared from my widgets and no option to add it back.My try a uninstall if they don’t update to fix to see if that works. The new update does allow signing it better, the old one gone caught in a loop trying to sign in sometimes.

Can’t Clear Engine Codes

WatchAddictMN

Should have done my research before spending $$$. Huge step backwards not being able to clear engine codes. No reason to remove this functionality.

Won’t Activate

topherowens

So I’ve had every version of the Automatic since 2014. This one is the worst. It won’t activate. Set up instructions aren’t adequate. I went for a short drive after installing it and it wouldn’t activate. Contacted support. They said sometimes it takes up to 30 minutes (then why not put that in the instructions?). Went for a 40 minute drive. Still nothing. Plugged my old Automatic in to make sure it wasn’t this car’s OBDII issue. Old one worked fine. Bought a 2nd new dongle to see if my first one was bad. Still nothing. This is the worst. Buy a different device from a different company.

Horrible product

fjsntfcksd

Doesnt work, 2nd generation has no issues. This one doesnt detect the vehicle. No instructions (all you get is plug it in and take it for a drive) Driving for an hour turning off and on the vehicle no luck. Will be sending it back for full refund. Try any other product if you want reliability. Customer support only through email. Expect to wait forever for a response .... Also if you try to leave a feedback of 1 star system will tell you name is taken.

Not worth the money

Ukvallabha

The app is so buggy and they charge money for the device and the service later. My app always says I am driving. Please fix these things.

Doesn’t Look Good So Far...

JRMlaw

I had the 1st gen Automatic for several years, and while its ability to connect automatically (by BT) was spotty at best, when it worked it worked well enough, and the app wasn’t awful. The newest gen adapter and app don’t look good so far... First, step one of “Getting Started” should be “Add an Adapter”, explaining how to find the ID code. Instead, “Getting Started” and “ADD NEW ADAPTER” are two separate things. (And why are you YELLING about the new adapter??) Also, if you’re going to make me select the year, make, and model of my car to set this up, make sure you have all makes and models of cars in your database! (Seriously, you think Mazda has only two 2019 models available as of May 2019??) I think the subscription model stinks (not a surprise, since apparently Automatic has been swallowed by SiriusXM, which likes to gouge customers monthly). And removing the clear-codes feature is moronic. I’ll give this a chance to prove itself before I return it for a refund, but so far, I’m not even close to impressed.
