In addition it will allow you to automatically change your iPhone, iPad volume to minimum or maximum on selected locations.

Instructions:
- Click on edit to create new location
- Enter location name
- Select the location from the map. You can select a location by using your existing contacts or search for a location.
- Select the operation when entering the location. The default is to mute the device.
You can also set the volume to minimum or maximum.
- Select the operation when exiting the location. The default is to un-mute the device.
You can also set the volume to minimum or maximum.
- Enable Notify if you want to receive a notification on your device when the operation is executed. The default is to enable notification.
- Enable/Disable the saved location. When disabled the location is not used.
Now to test the exit operation you need to exit the location. To test the enter operation you need to exit the location and enter it.
You can also test your Enter operation by using your current location.

Mutes whenever you enter a setup location. Good. BUT, doesn’t immure when you leave. BAD. Well, it unmutes some apps, but does not immure my phone and some other apps. I have to manually switch sounds off and on.

Works perfectly. Tried a number of different approaches to muting my iPhone at locations. At first, I just used the Ring/Silence switch on the side of the phone. Works, but after 3 days of no one calling you, you realize you forgot to turn the ringer back on. OK, then I’ll set a reminder to alert me when I get near my location. Worked until I got a new car, and my phone connects by Bluetooth to the car, and reminders don’t give any sound at all when I reach my destination! (There is a painful work around for this, but I’m too stubborn and to lazy to use it!) Finally found Auto Mute by Location. I initially had a problem where the phone wouldn’t unmute after leaving the location, but it turned out to be a cockpit problem: I had the parameter set wrong for what the app would do when I left the location. I had it set to turn the sound up, instead of a to unmute. The developer was very patient with me, and after several emails, showed me what the problem was. Great customer service! And, I don’t know of any other app that would do the same function! Five stars.

I had such high hopes for this app. I bought it and it worked great, but it is constantly running your location in the background. I think it running based on scheduled days and times would be better. Do you have an app to do that?

It is so nice to set this once and forget it. We go to the movies weekly so I set it to be silent within 50 meters of the movie theater. It works like a charm! I've got it set for doctors and vets office locations too

This app worked great until 2 weeks ago when update caused annoying notices to appear and have to be addressed and today, my phone rang at work on my desk when it was programmed as automute. Think this app is now a dud and will uninstall and look for another. Too bad, it worked great until the update 2 weeks ago.

The support email is extremely responsive and helpful. The app can appear not to work if it is tested in the most obvious way. Namely, you define where you are as a Location to be muted and then call your phone from another phone. It WILL ring. This is because -- as explained in the full description -- that the phone mutes when it ENTERS a muted Location. So if you are already there, it does nothing. You have to leave and come back. This is a fine app. The feature it is based on, GeoFence, does eat battery time. So you might consider turning it off until you anticipate needed it. This can be done easily on a Location by Location bases. Just don't wait until you get there ;-) Update: This app just gets more important to me as my defined locations increase as I use it. It would be great if there were a wiki-like database were users could share location information. WRT my comments about battery usage: As I understand it now, the iPhone location service (GeoFence) tried to get away with only using the low power methods of determining whether you cross into a GeoFence area, WiFi hotspots and cell towers. Only if further accuracy is needed, does it turn on the power hungry GPS. So the battery problem should only occur if you are just a little outside a location for a long time (like a movie theater very near your house). I don't know, but would expect, that the accelerometer turns off the GPS if it sees that your iPhone is not going anywhere.

It works!! And it gives an indication that it's running so there's no question. This way I can mute my phone at work but now I don't forget to unmute it when I leave. Thank you developers!!
