I am an AT&T customer with a landline phone. Installation was simple, but as soon as app is opened, user is asked to log in. First, it asks for phone number or user name, followed by password. I tried my ATT user name & password, nothing. I tried my phone number with same password, nothing. I tried both again, but with my 4 digit ATT password. Nothing. If I thought customer service could help, I would call, but they never know about these things. No, there is no setup help.

I don't know how useful this be for a regular landline, but I know lots of people try to text and expect text from a toll-free (1-800) number, and this app works for that. Simple to use. It does require an ID / password which you get from AT&T for this service, so there is an extra step, but well worth it.

This is one of those services that is a great service, but they made a mediocre app. Web interface and Mac app is great. I can send/receive SMS on my office line so I don't have to give out my personal cell. The iPhone app needs to be updated to allow saving the username and password in the app. Touch ID would be even better! The only reason I don't like the app is because I have to enter my user ID and password over again every time I open it. The only redeeming quality is that it retains the login and continues to send push notifications until you re-open the app - then it asks you to login again and stops sending alerts. So as long as I don't open the app, I will continue receiving alerts of new text messages. That is the only reason I use it. I try not to open the app unless it is an emergency because it is so inconvenient to re-enter my login info all the time.

Just got the 11 update, and now it does. It work. However the zip whip version app works fine. Probably needs to be recompiled for IOS 11.

App is worked great on 10.3.2 but will not stay open on 11.0.2. It flashes and closes but still appears in the “close” apps screen.
