Really enjoy this app! - Can you update it to allow spelling to go even faster? - How about "real life" fingerspelling?...meaning taping people fingerspelling at different speeds...even different people so different "individual" styles can be used to increase receptive skills ? ...including skipping letters! .....I am doing great with the app, but when watching people in real life or via camera, most of the time they skip or "wiggle" fingers up and down in place of letters...which is harder to understand.

Such a help!

I fell in love with ASl 10 years ago and took a few college courses. I've struggled to move past my intermediate skill level since I don't know anyone else who signs. I can slowly teach myself new signs, I can fingerspell words I see, but understanding others' fingerspelling has been difficult until now. Since I downloaded the app a couple of months ago, my speed has picked up tremendously. Thank you!

This app helped me improve being receptive to fingerspelling! It's essential to every ASL student

excellent!

this app has greatly improved my ability to read fingerspelling at high speeds. what i would like to see for future versions is to be able to see the words list, practice specific words by selecting them, and add your own words to it (which would be very helpful especially for names.)

Love this!

Use this on the web site and I'm thrilled to have it in an app. When ever I have a few minutes, I practice and I'm improving in leaps and bounds. Thank You!

Fantastic

This is an indispensable app to improve finger spelling. It would be nice if the sign for "b" was the more common one. To improve the app I wish there was a number indicator next to the speed slider.

Best app for finger spelling

The word choice is excellent, there are so many words in this app, it's common to see new words since it has a good variety of vocabulary. I've been using this all day and have felt the different stages of learning: From practicing to just recognize the letters, to saying the letters in my mind as they are shown, to spelling along with it as I see it, to being able to finish and guess the rest of the word, even to start to "feel" the word and fill in the gaps because of the shape of common suffixes "tion" "ing", etc.. All the while increasing speed but not too much. I am now able to understand words at about 3/4 of full speed on 'any' length (I'm a good persistent learner). Thanks Bill Vicars for all you do. The only way this app could possibly be any better is if it had pre-recorded videos of real people finger spelling at different speeds. Deaf people and others often abbreviate since they spell so fast they are shaping the next letter before they're even finished with the letter they are on! Anyways, this app is good. I don't even use the typing feature since it's too slow typing it in, I just use the 'show answer' feature because usually you know when you're right, it's faster that way, you can get in more words, and the more time your brain spends practicing reception, the more progress you'll see. I am persistently patient.
