Lovely game but bugged...

So i bought this game way back for my iPod touch second gen (now I have a fifth) and I loved it! I beat every boss except for the last which was ridiculously hard. I tried searching for it recently but Arodius was not in my downloads. I noticed I had to repurchase it and so I did and played it again. After the first stage's boss, I go to the desert area. I beat the first level and the highlight is still on the 6th level of the first stage. I rebeat it and did the desert level again and it would not let me progress to the second desert level. I thought I bugged the download or something so I deleted it and redownloaded it. Same issue.
