The first game was really good, but not quite great. I had hoped this one would be what I was looking for. Nope! Every change was for the worse! Graphics went from smooth 3D to cartoony 2D. User interface is clumsier and buggy. Heroes are downgraded. Battles all have pop-ups that you can no longer disable. Total failure. Going to try part 3 next, but part 1 is clearly superior to this crap.
Fun little turn based RPG. Great casual game for when you need waste a few minutes. Enough depth to provide some thought about squad tactics but approachable enough that not much has to be relearned between infrequent game sessions. Gear helps to differentiate roles between characters especially weapons as having a balance between ranged/diagonal reaching heroes and your toe to toe fighter/tanks become critical as the game pushes on. Only real complaint is the lack of spells and abilities for anything more meaningful than healing. Might be found later in the game I found the mages to be un-useful.
For those of you old enough to remember Hero Quest, the board game, this is a nostalgic and fun replica. The extra content and character classes are also reasonably priced at only $2. I hope they continue adding new quests and class features.
This game gives the best old-school table top board game rpg experience. Fans of Hero Quest (or Dark Quest) and D&D will rejoice at the smart balance of simplicity and depth. This was a very well thought through package, and I gladly paid for the bonus missions even though I'm not even done with the in game content yet. I truly love this game. It is what I have been looking for in an iOS rpg for years now. Warhammer should have been this fun, but it isn't. This game starts off easy at first but it ramps up eventually. The increase is a bit slow, but one you get a few completed missions under your belt, the game flows better.
This is truly a great tabletop style game. I was skeptical before downloading it but as soon as I started playing I knew that it was a great quality game. Veteran players and those new to the game will both find this to be an entertaining way to pass the time. ONE WARNING THOUGH: you will lose track of time and end up playing for 2-3 hours straight so play it when you have time to spare
