AR Synth Music

AR $ynth is a unique blend of performance music and augmented reality. To make it work all you need is a dollar. When using the app you can look through your phone at the dollar and it transforms into a full potential synthesizer. Place your fingers over the virtual buttons to activate their capabilities. The synth has seven sounds, three effect sliders, a looper and a full octave of keys.

The programmed sounds are: piano, harp, panpipe, gamelan, sinebeep, sawbeep, and bass. The effect sliders are echo/loop time, reverb and chorus.
Play for your friends or an audience or just hook in your headphones and play for yourself. No one will believe you when you say that you can play music with a dollar bill let alone a synthesizer!

Great fun app!
Playerbshshshs

This app is fun and easy to use. You need a dollar, but you don't have to pay! I was making fun music in no time. A good number of instruments to use, and it works better with more people to synchronize movements! (One person playing the keys, another switching instruments/playing with the functions)

One of a kind app
Flying_Dragon_Chicken

This was like buying a real mini synthesizer for 1$. It took me a couple days of off and on playing to get used to the controls. It is a strange and amazing new technology and feel awesome to be at the forefront.

Creative use of AR

I got this app. It is dank. Learning curve for sure.

Can't get it to work
Flapjack1971

Does neat things visually to a dollar bill. Can't make it make noise.

Distorted
BeadNut

Tried downloading 3 times. Only 2 "notes " worked and they were horribly distorted. It was worth a try anyway.

So fun!

I was not expecting this to be so cool and fun. It's a good conversation starter too. Haven't seen anything like it before.

Horrible sounds
Bear-One

1. Interactive buttons and sliders not active except Loop on/off and does nothing to stop the horrible noise. 2. Needing a dollar bill is creative but does not work will when a ceiling fan is on. The bill flys away. 3. Having to hold the phone over dollar bill and then try to interact with synth isn't ideally best fit if you want to relax and just play. It doesn't play right and just noise so it defeats the purpose. -After you fix horrible sound- *suggestion: loose the dollar bill and use a 2D background that the synth can be played easier. I played over external Bluetooth speaker and made no difference. Rebooted phone. Reinstalled the app but nothing helps the horrible noise. I'm a musician and always want to see anyone creating succeed so good luck and wish you he best.

Gave it a 3 because...

It is weirdly intriguing, what can be done when Devs have the ability to build apps. This app is useless for the most part, and for about 3 minutes, I played with it, and marginally enjoyed the virtual buttons, etc...., but then said good bye. DEV? I wish I had your ability to create.

Nothing
Psmythe

Only the Loop button worked. No sound at all on my iPhone 4S, iOS 9. Interesting idea, though. So 2 stars.
