Important notes:
1. Software v2.074 or later must be installed in the MRX/AVM.
2. The MRX/AVM must be connected to the same local network.
3. The first time that the app is used, the MRX/AVM must be powered on beforehand so the app can apply necessary settings.
4. MRX/AVM can be controlled by one IP control device at a time, and responds to the one with the more recent connection.
5. This app is not recommended if a custom IP or RS-232 control system is or will be controlling the MRX/AVM. To prevent conflicts, it is normally best to use one type of network control.
Consistent connectivity is really bad. The PlayFi app connects around 90% of the time, but this app, maybe 1% so I have to attribute the issue to this app, and not to any other potential factor. All other WiFi A/V devices in the same room connect immediately upon power up.
This app works flawlessly from my experience and is extremely helpful over the remote for visibility of volume level, switching sources and getting reception from all over my large (36 x 48) listening room no matter obstructions. Great in low level lighting vs. the remote too. An extremely useful feature of my MRX 720. Bravo to Anthem!
I upgraded to iOS 13 this afternoon. Now this app won’t launch. Disappointing
This worked just fine (for me to turn down the volume when my kids are watching a movie too loud) but it now crashes on launch with iOS 13. Please fix and I will adjust my rating.
It just breaks, exits on launch. Totally unusable after iOS 13 update. I own a lot of Anthem equipment, and it’s disappointing that lower end companies like Onkyo, Pioneer, Denon, etc., had their apps ready to go and updated well before the iOS 13 release, while a high end equipment maker like Anthem just flounders. Developers have known for months about iOS 13, and beta versions have been available to developers for several weeks. Now Anthem didn’t have its act together to update this app is beyond me, but it suggests that the company isn’t as technologically advanced as they want people to think.
This was a very good Application until I updated my iPhone to 13
Since the iOS 13 release, neither this version or the previous version can even open, they both just crash immediately. I wish I could give zero stars. Seriously, my brand new, very expensive anthem doesn’t have a functioning app but my 3yr old denon has a perfect app. Anthem, I expected much better.
Crashes immediately upon opening if you have iOS 13 or newer. I never really write bad reviews, but I’m hoping some developer at Anthem sees this and fixes the app. I’ll adjust my rating when fixed. That said, even when the app worked (prior to iOS 13), it seemed outdated, didn’t take up the full iPhone screen etc. Mainly, I just want the app to work. My receiver is in a different room than the TV, so I can’t use an IR remote. Need the app.
