Go Interactive provides six different ways to take a snapshot of student understanding in the classroom. For example, the Draw feature allows students to draw their answer or annotate on a customizable template such as an axis or graph paper. In addition, teachers can upload their own custom graphics.
With The Answer Pad application, you can connect with your students like never before and adjust your instruction accordingly.
The Answer Pad scores your paper quizzes for you. Set up an electronic answer sheet for your paper test on-line, using any of the eight different question types. Students can also use a scratch pad to show their work. With a built-in, robust reporting system for item analysis, the Answer Pad offers reports by skill, by class, and by student. Teachers can view the scratch pad showing the student work. In addition, school and district implementations are available for aggregate reporting.
The Answer Pad app offers teachers a seamless, easy-to-use platform to interact with students.
When this works it does a great job of formative assessment and it can be used for peer-assessment and group learning. I am having some issues in interactive mode. When my students use the connect code and enter their name , the program stops and doesn’t move them to the next step. As a teacher in interactive, i’m not able to “send out” my question. These two issues make it difficult to use the software but i like it when it works.
My child is forced to use this amazingly badly written app by his teacher. The user interface is so embarrassingly unergonomic and unfriendly that it brings to mind MS-DOS apps from 80s written by hobbyists who lacked even rudimentary computer science training. The fact that any school corporation would allow the teachers to even consider unleashing this piece of crap on their students is truly shocking.
I am a high school English teacher, and I use The Answer Pad to give quizzes and get formative feedback. They’ve made great updates - I especially love the new live monitor feature!
I use this app at least once a week to formatively assess my students. They love the "go interactive" portion, especially the drawing. A great tool for all classrooms but I use it for chemistry where students can draw molecules and write formulas and equations.
Answer Pad is a great app for any 1:1 classroom. It’s a great way to check in with students at the point of instruction. This new version allows teachers to send color feedback to the students and lets them retry their response, which I love. The grading solution, answer sheets, is a huge time saver and allows students to show their work to support their answer. Great customer support from the developer too.
For college lectures this app is a great way to stay engaged and test what you know. The entire class can interact and receive feedback and the drawing tool is a unique aspect that is very helpful for science and math classes!
