Great App!

Miniorila

I LOVE this app, and use it all the time. As a musician, it is pretty much everything I need for learning by ear. And I’m so happy I can now import from Apple Music. I’d recommend it to every musician I know. Worth every penny!

Was Student, Now a Professional Musician

The Amazing Slow Downer completely transformed how I approach and study music. I’ve been using it for several years now, and it’s accelerated my learning to such an extent that I’ve been able to become a professional musician. I’ll never be without this incredible tool!! Thank you!!!

One of the best!

Wild Type

Long ago, I used the desktop PC version of this app. Fast forward to now. I’ve been learning the guitar fingerpicking accompaniment to a folk song off Spotify that includes vocals, a second guitar, banjo, fiddle and bass. I decided to slow the tempo of the song to hear the guitar part I was interested in and to tease it apart from the other instruments. If possible I needed to hear each string pluck, hammer-on/pull-off, and note pitch. I tested 6 apps, including ASD. It didn’t take long for me to conclude that ASD’s audio rendering engine was better than the other five. The quality of the audio at slow speeds is superior to the other apps I tested — smoother with little to no noticeable stuttering. ASD does not have many of the bells and whistles offered by the other apps, and the UI is plain and uncluttered. But it excels where it counts: superior audio at slow speeds. And that makes it easier to learn songs, including details that I couldn’t hear well in the other apps. I also tested the apps on pop and indie rock songs, and reached the same conclusion. I highly recommend ASD!

Caution - you’ll lose all your tracks with new phone

dmac-ct

This is a decent slow downer, but the big issue is how they store your slowed down tracks on the iPhone. I just upgraded to a new phone and everything came across from my old phone EXCEPT the ASD files. On my new phone, ASD IS EMPTY. I lost hundreds of tracks and in/out points, pitch adjustments, etc. it will take months to rebuild them all, if it is even possible. So, watch out.

Amazing Slow Downer

This is one long running Apple Music commercial. Every time I try to access my iTunes library, I get a pop up commercial for Apple Music and then the app immediately goes back to the menu.

Doesn’t work with mail app anymore

Seattledc

Used to be able to open files in ASD right from the mail app but that doesn’t seem to work anymore in iOS 13. Hope that can be fixed cause I love this app and use it all the time

APPLE MUSIC UPDATE

Could you make it work with Apple Music as well. That would help out a lot. Thanks

Finally an app that integrates with Spotify

Audiophile_96

UPDATED REVIEW: Connectivity with this app is horrible, first I noticed it occasionally losing connection when using the app outside of my home. Now even with high-speed WiFi in my own house the ASD app will frequently stop playing tracks and displays error messages. It’s not my internet, it is this app. For the record I purchased ASD to play Spotify, and my Spotify app works perfectly fine on its own so I know that my internet connection is not a variable here. Even with tracks downloaded for offline use lose connection on ASD. I want a refund at this point. For the longest time I have been searching for an app that can manipulate and customize the sound of songs on streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music. There are many apps that already offer this service, but the catch is that the songs must be manually downloaded to your device already as unprotected song formats. With the convenience of steaming dominating these days, I needed to find another app to customize music to my liking without having to download every song individually into my music library. This app does just that. If you’re an audiophile like I am, you understand that features such as raising the pitch and manipulating the speed of a song greatly enhance the listener experience. I also love that I can apply universal customizations so I can enjoy my Spotify playlists without the interruption of adjusting each song. The only cons I can find are that sometimes the app loses connectivity with Spotify even if the songs are downloaded on Spotify for offline use; I notice this more when I am driving. If this could be improved that would be much appreciated. Lastly, I also hope that this app could recognize songs added as local files to Spotify; local files are songs added to Spotify from sources like iTunes which comes in handy when certain songs cannot be found on Spotify. Overall, this is an excellent app that is worth the purchase. If the issues I mentioned could be addressed and fixed I will give an updated review.
