It was originally built in 2001 for Japanese feature phones, and downloaded over 1 million times so far.
Moreover, AM SKATER was awarded two prizes for mobile games in Japan.
The game consists of five regular stages plus one special stage, and the player can only go on to the special stage after collecting the letters 'S', 'K', 'A', 'T', and 'E' on the previous five stages. By obtaining each letter, the skater gains the ability to do a new trick or improve ollie.
It's possible for players to find unique combined techniques just like skateboarding in real life.

Great simple game, yet still decently challenging. 2 requests for 5 stars: a "Replay" option when you've lost so we don't need to go back through the menu and the ability to play our own music still. Love the 8-bit theme, but on a 25min subway ride Id still like to have my music!
This game is fun, I would pay $1.99 for a version without ads and iPhone 5 support.
I really do live this game as I find myself playing this more than any other skate game that Ive payed for but I'm not giving 4 stars because there needs to be an option of starting from the levels you've unlocked. I don't want to get to level 5 and have to start all over again.
Too hard and nothing special about the extra stage at the end. More like a waste of time than anything else. I beat then was disappointed that there was nothing else.
