Great... But

GustoCappone

I have been stuck on one level for about three weeks. If I don't get two birds of paradise and a double backflip soon I'll quit. I have started recording statistics about the frequency of the two birds appearing simultaneously and the presence of a landmark which permits this double backflip. This seems unreasonably unusual. I an traveling over 16k meters and the ability will show itself twice tops. Usually I'm getting chased by a lemur. I have never left a review for any game. But I really want this level to be over.

Lord Voyceroy of Camembert.

I feel it’s unfair that the lemurs don’t die when I land directly on them, but I die every time I land a little askew.

Challenges are poorly thought out

The gameplay, visuals and music is beautiful and well put together. What a shame it was ruined by dumb challenges. Such a good concept ruined by poor planning.

Basically a very pretty (but content-lacking) DLC pack for the first game.

It’s gorgeous, it’s compelling, it’s fluid... but there’s so very little new on top of an already incredibly-simple original game. You’ll note I still rated it 3 stars, because yes, it’s still worth it. However, the minimal mechanical additions and lack of meaningful long-term progression means that after an hour or two, you’re mostly grinding for some basic achievements. There’s not even something as silly as, say, a collection of little bits of llama art for you to slowly unlock with coins once you’ve completed everything. Once you’ve tackled the fairly-simple challenges, there’s nothing else to see or do. Fair price for the experience? Almost certainly. Disappointing that it doesn’t try to be more than it is? Sadly also true.

Okay

Couple of glitches to work out, and a few levels that are next to impossible because of poor placement of wall rides and grinds.

A beautiful, meditative escape

I downloaded this game one day at work needing some form of release during downtime at lunch or just stepping away from my workspace. I had heard of Alto’s Adventure - seen it appear on virtually every “must-own iOS game” lost that’s been published since it was released. When I saw this in the App Store, I read a couple of reviews from other sites and bought it on a whim. It’s been exactly what I’ve needed from a game. It’s simple, immediately transporting, and precisely as challenging as it ought to be. It is the only game with a Zen mode that I’ve ever consistently played the Zen mode on. The artwork is excellent and the sound design satisfying. The soundtrack demands headphones. The gameplay is simple but not easy. The main mode of the game offers structure and challenge that is engaging rather than trite. The replayability far surpasses almost every mobile game I’ve ever downloaded. I recommend this game to anyone who: 1. Wants to play an excellent game; 2. Needs a brief but absorbing respite from daily anxiety; or, 3. Wishes to to appreciate a masterclass in function and design for any sort of phone app.

Freezing

Has started freezing on me every time a new game starts. Bummer.

Needs More Improvement!

Game graphics is so cool and beyond my expectations! But I think the developer should make some improvements. Likewise, the background music is not as pro like the previous release-Alto’s Advance. Although, the trailer of Alto’s Odyssey was so good and the background music was charming. I think they may replace that music with the existing or give an option on the manu to change the background music and add some other background music for a better experience. In this case, we can change our background music as per our needs. Highly recommended to add the trailer music of Alto’s Odyssey. Thank You.

Love this game but stuck!!

Then I beat it!! I love being stuck because it is beatable. I only play this on the train and so it gives me a slight time limit.

Don’t Buy This

vilinskyy

Was a huge fan of the first alto adventure, but didn’t expect this kind of scam from this studio. It replicates almost every gameplay moment from first game: 1. Story 2. Characters 3. Achievements (how lazy they are!!!) 4. Items 5. Locations Just added useless one-time-buy items without practical need. Deeply disappointed in studio and will never ever recommend them to anyone. You guys spoiled my evening. I know being developer is hard, but releasing a copy of your own game with slight improvements with tripled cost is the last thing to do in indie community. In-apps in first game would be much more appropriate (who thought someone would say that someday). Update: Playing for 2 weeks, 21 level — everything except tornado, wallride and vines are the same. So what’s new? Really, I’m so disappointed I bought this. I could just play the first Alto. What really bugs me is that you with your creativity could come up with something unique and delightful and you did a cheap move instead of it. Still, don’t recommend to buy for anyone who owns first version. Update 2: Played 40 levels and everything is still the same. Same goddamn levels, achievements, items. Apple should ban you and give refunds. I’ve lost all respect to your studio. Cheap greed.
