The best space shooter in the App Store is now Retro! Inspired by classic arcade games, Alien Space Retro combines the best of old and new, bringing dual-stick shooter gameplay to a new level. Your mission: Pilot your ship into the heart of enemy space and destroy anything that gets in your way.
The game features:
-amazing retro-inspired graphics
-fast-paced gameplay
-upgradeable ship systems and weapons
-multiple weapon types to choose from
-30 campaign levels
-Survival mode
-Normal and Hard difficulty levels
-leaderboards and achievements through Game Center
-silky smooth controls
-listen to your iTunes music while you play
-new gameplay modes and weapons available through in-app purchases
The challenge: Unlike other shooters where the best the enemy AI can do is to run into you, Alien Space Retro offers a wide variety of enemies wielding the same weapons available to you, and then some. Blasters, lasers, tractor beams, missiles, photon torpedos… they'll throw everything they can at you. Are you up to the task?

"It’s not easy releasing a new game into a genre that is literally flooded with great games, but Alien Space managed to hold its own against the competition with excellent controls, interesting enemies, cool weapons, and a great upgrade system"
-TouchArcade
"Those charismatic new visuals may be the main selling point, but the gameplay is as fun, frantic, and satisfying as ever."
-PocketGamer
"Alien Space Retro’s strength comes not just from its aesthetically-pleasing vector graphics, but also its gameplay, which is at times deeper than other dual-stick shooters."

A very lousy excuse for a dual stick space shooter. I know it has different modes and upgrades for your ship, which are both nices little touches, but the art style is bland, gameplay is slow amd almost seemingly pointless and it just doesnt really have anything to grab your attention. Youre better off getting geofighter- light wars.
Been waiting for this game to drop to $0 and now here it is! The perfect time to steal this addictive game that plays a bit like stardust on PS3 (which is a good thing). Thanks dev! 5 alien stars for you!
Enjoying more than I thought I would. I like the ability point system and how the baddies develop new attacks each level.
I've read some bad reviews but I think you guys did a great job on this game. I've played some asteroid style games in the past that I didn't like, but this one is really good. I'm giving 5 star:)
Look great but I was expecting shooting out of pointy spaceship only as old way. This game seem very difficult to control where to shoot at and at same time trying to control navigation.
Why do I have to pay for some weapon upgrades in the iPad version when I purchased the full upgrades in the iPhone version. Being able to do lightening gun in iPad would be awesome. Also, when I tried to get my accounts to considlidate on Openfeint, for some reason, I lost the same two weapons in the iphone version as well as the iPad version. So now, even though I paid two dollars to have them, for some odd reason, now I can't access them without what? paying for them again. It's good, but it's not that good.
