In Airport Madness 3D you are an air traffic controller, managing airplanes as they travel to and from major international airports. For seven years, we've been telling game players that Airport Madness is a game, not a simulation. While Airport Madness 3D offers a decent level of realism, we are mainly trying to make this game fun. We are using real earth data for mountains and surrounding landscape, as seen in the images, but our airports were built by us from scratch.

Flight characteristics are realistic. Aircraft actually raise their nose during the takeoff rotation and landing flare, just like they do in real life.

I love the idea behind the game and the game can be challenging at times. The game would be better though if you could pick between 2 or three airports in the beginning tho. Great game tho. Well done. Making one or two more airports free would increase my rating.

I love the new update but the window that opens when you select an aircraft frequently gets stuck on an aircraft. The only way I have found to get past the sticky window is to select a new aircraft from the radar screen.

Very poor response when trying to initiate a command to an aircraft. Takes up to 10 taps to get a plane to recognise that a command has been initiated. Unplayable at the moment. Must be fixed.

I must say, I was a bit disappointed when the iOS version wasn't released with the PC version, but honestly it was worth the wait. I've played a lot of the Airport Madness games before this one, but wow, I didn't think this would work well on iPhone. I suppose though, considering they're able to port over console quality games, I shouldn't be surprised, but still. The controls are very intuitive and are very easy to understand. I will say, sometimes, if you don't touch the right part of the command, it won't go through, but I've found the sweet spot so no worries there. I completely support the in-app purchase idea because it makes the game not so expensive off the bat. The first airport is a good setup, but I just purchased La Guardia and man, that crossing runway stuff takes a bit getting used to, but once you time it right, you're golden. The graphics are very nice, airplane noises, readbacks, and even the pseudo-Twitter feed is a nice touch. The different views, from tower view to runway cam, to the cockpit view adds a new level of immersion as well. All in all, the top down feel of the previous games is great, but if you want the real air traffic control tower perspective, this app will not disappoint!
