The best way I've found to view pictures located on my PC from my iPad and iPhone.
This app does all I expected and keeps my iPad and iPhone memory used for better purposes. I can let friends connect when in the house using my guest wi-fi connection and they can browse all our photos that we do not mind sharing. The private photos are kept in a different folder which I can add or delete from access via this app.
App looks good but frequently it disconnects from local mac based server. Pressing the Reconnect button does not relocate the server. Seems to be a poor implementation of Bonjour.
This app is decent but it would be better if it had some features like random sort for thumbnails and slideshow and also more video format support. Also, some additional features in the video player would be nice like frame advance or the ability to slow down the play speed. If these features were added I’d have to change my stars to 4 or 5.
Crashes whenever I try to download a single or multiple photo selection..even after updating to the newest version that was supposed to fix this.
iOS 5.1.1 4gen itouch How to use this: 1. Create folder in the folder in the app, sounds weird but yeah you have have to cause if import ur picture in the app it won't show up on broswer. 2. Enable both wifi and browser settings in the app. 3. In browser you pick the folder in the app to view picture and you can save those picture..."file name of picture".ga rename to .jpeg or .bmp or .jpg. 4. On the program you download for the PC user you can transfer picture from PC to ur iPod. A. In the program it acts like a server. Make sure it allow to pass the firewall!! Make sure the last check box enable it you wanna see on the broswer of you picture. B. in you iPod app their should be icon of your network name of the PC that is running the program on. Make sure your on the same network.
This is a good product, and it does what is says it will do. That said, I think there is some room to impress here. First, the server side (running on a Windows Home Server in my case) needs to have an option to run as a service... even when no-one is logged in. Second, have the app tap into Apple's AirPrint functionality on the iPad! I can view the heck out of pictures, but what happens if I want to print to my AirPrint-capable HP printer?? Again... run as a service on the windows installation, and allow me to print from the iPad once I'm viewing the photo... this is what will make this app go from good to great.
It seems that I have to install a server on my computer and I definitely hate an app that requires this. Or I guess I can use my iPad as a server but again, why am I downloading such a thing? Hope bump comes out with an iPad version!!!
