Unusable

J'sG

Unable to open app because they just want you to pay, even though there is a “free trial”. I’d love to try out the app but I’m not going to put $58 in my iTunes account just to see if it fits my needs just so they can charge me in two weeks when I forget to cancel the automatic subscription. Sorry, I won’t buy into that.

Lots of bugs, bad support

RayWV

I do not recommend this app. Many (most) of the VFR sectionals will not install in the app, including the areas where I live and travel most. For whatever reason it will not plan a route longer than 1300 miles. LOUSY support. Looking into something else going forward.

What’s wrong

Cannot use this version only

Hi

214ASafeman

First let me have especial tank for your best app, then if it’s possible active 3D navigation and all airspace for iran country and airport en route chart. I have a suggestion : If it possible add an option for calculating intercept angle from one radial to another one

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaad&very Baaaaaaaaad

Due to deleted Iran ONC & Elevation charts in package.

Надоело!

McTuTeJlb

Very Useful European Aviation App!

Slappy65

Great App for planning and in-flight use for navigation, airport selection and many other features. This is the App for use in Europe as it contains good maps for VFR and most of the IFR structure waypoints. I would like to see the programmers continue to add other features for European use (IFR ELA charts, smaller scale VFR maps) but overall much better than their competitors who do not currently have any navigable maps for Europe.

Great VFR app

This is a great VFR app for a very reasonable price. Out of the two things I missed, one has now been implemented, the scratchpad in the lockscreen, which is much more clever than the one found in e.g. Foreflight. The only other thing I wish for is the ability to customize the instrument layout. I would for example want to have a screen with some notes, where I could write down dep/arr info and keep that visible all the time. Plus to rearrange the other items on the instr layout to just have the data I want there. Other than that, this is just a great app with great potential.

Great App For Many Users

If you're flying in Western Europe and some other non-US locations (New Zealand, Australia, S. America) this seems like it could be a leading choice for a moving map navigation app. Loading the free openstreetmap.org maps, or paid aviation charts, for a variety of countries is very easy. I'm not going to review the app functions in detail - they all seem to work as advertised, both in the planning stage and in flight. For myself, I'm a low time VFR pilot in the US that mainly makes 2-3 hr. trips to build experience (and have expensive lunches,) and I still plot my flights on paper charts with the rigor that my instructor drilled into me. I thought I'd try AIr Navigation Pro as a GPS backup and for this it is very good. Transferring my paper routes is easy and monitoring my progress in-flight is reassuring. The Air Nav Pro instruments work well and are a great backup feature that I hope I'll never need. I often fly close to mountainous areas so I particularly appreciate the elevation profile ahead. So my niche is a low cost, lower function alternative to Foreflight or WingX. Here is my only grumble. When I purchased, the top in-app buys were 99c individual sectionals, but now one can only buy charts for the whole US, for $9.99. Because I live in L.A. I also need the TAC, which means second set of TACs, also for the whole country and also for $9.99. And they're updated twice a year. $40/yr in maps (at time of writing) is peanuts compared to the rest of my hobby so I don't mind, but it puts the cost of AIr Navigation Pro much closer to that of Foreflight. I don't own the latter but once I start venturing further from home it seems to have planning and editing features that more powerful and polished than those in Air Nav, such as fuel pricing on the map and a more logical way to add waypoints. Air Navigation Pro is a good app at a reasonable price that is great for Europe (where the app developer is based) and some other non-US locations. For low time US users it's a good entry to GPS moving maps but the pricing structure might make you consider alternatives.

Great features! Awesome app!

I wanted to start using my iPad in the cockpit but didn't want a spend a fortune to get started. This app lets you use your iPhone as the GPS for your iPad, and it works great! I payed for the US Sectionals and tested and had great results. I started with a full charge on my iPhone and my iPad and flew for exactly 1 hour. Both the iPad and the iPhone were at 79% battery at the end of the flight. (my iPhone is a 4S and the iPad 2 was at full brightness). The maps worked well and the airport information was very helpful. I felt much more comfortable with this tool in the cockpit. Tested linking the app to X-Plane to learn the app and was very impressed. I'm much happier with this than my trial of Foreflight and I will continue to use this on every flight.
