Great game!
Palapagirl

This game controls very well, has a nice upgrade system, and is fun. Graphically good and requires some strategy but not a high learning curve to fly. I find some accelerometer controls frustrating, but not this one. Very nice job on this game.

Needs some Adjustments but a good game
avi8tor50

OK, I am NOT a computer guru or IPAD guru. I am a pilot. I am just an ordinary guy who enjoys aviation games. Just downloaded the game this morning so these are all first impressions.. The tutorial is good and after going thru it I felt I had a good grasp of the mechanics of the game. Takes a little bit to get used to the accelerometer controls as there is only horizontal movement (left and right) and no up and down which is a little different from most flying games that I have played. When you change from flying to the right to flying to the left the aircraft is always upside down which is somewhat annoying. There is a bit of a learning curve to get used to the movement of the aircraft but it is not impossible. When you have to attack ground targets the targets are at the very bottom of the screen which makes it somewhat difficult to establilsh a goo d angle of attack. The graphics are pretty good and the sound quality it good but the machine gun effect is lame. Needs to be faster. Music is OK. I would have preferred the option to have a cockpit view (none available) so you could actually get the enemy "in your sights." There is a button to slow the aircraft down in kind of suspended motion and at the same time it makes you immune to the bullets being fired at you. This is especially helpful when you are first learning the game. You also have the option to put the gun on "auto" so it will fire whenever the enemy is in your sights and you can concentrate on flying the aircraft. Generally it is a fun game and certainly worth $2.99. I am hoping that the creators will make some adjustments to make it even better.

It's okay

Fun but controls take some getting used to. It also gets repetitive after awhile

Good

It's pretty good. I like it.

Overall a good game
Sugimulm

Overall worth the price. Accelerometer controls take some getting used to but you will adjust. Graphics are really good, but could use better gunfire and explosions, maybe in future updates. Plays like MiniSquadron, but has it's own personality. Recommend to all players looking for a WWII shooter. UPDATE: the reason for a 4 star is the game is really good, but there is so much potential to become a PERFECT shooter. Plus wanted to say an independent review, in no way related or know the developers. Took a chance and NO REGRETS. A really good game that will get better.

Just OK For Now But Has Potential!!!
Doxycyc

I give this gam 3 stars for the innovativeness, however I feel it is a long way from being polished. The missions are incredibly short and though the flight mechanics are ok it really slows the game down to have to very slightly tilt and watch the plane painfully climb. To avoid fire you just have to press on the right side of the screen and the plane kind of freezes in mid air and twists! I really don't like that feature as it requires no skill or learning as opposed to if you had to use your flight mechanics to avoid bullets! Also another huge issue is that if you tilt to the left side you are stuck flying upside down! So basically the game is geared towards you flying from left to right unless you don't mind flying continuously upside down. Now the dev had mentioned on touch arcade that one of the issues with mini squadron was that the world would end on each side and you would bump off it and fly back the other way whereas in Air Force the horizon continues as you fly. Though this is true with mini squadron that was never an issue because of the incredibly smooth controls, the cartoony nature of the planes and the gorgeous graphics and sound! In this game the graphics are just ok (except the fire and explosions which IMHO are mediocre) the sound is also just ok, music is appropriate but the controls leave a lot to be desired! It's also hard to figure out who is your ally and who is your enemy until they start firing on you! The arrows point, yes but once in your line of view you are left guessing who is who until you are being shot at! This game has potential but it needs a lot of work! I really want to like it! I hope the dev makes some adjustments in the future, such as options for D Pad controls or round buttons longer missions better flight mechanics, allowing one to fly to the left without being forced to stay upside down, and get rid of that weird out of plane maneuver! It's more like an out of body maneuver!

Best flying game I've played!
doomfan

Hands down the best flyer on iTunes! Each time you finish a mission and get those upgrade points it is like Christmas :) I love how the computer ai for the enemy planes is just smart enough to keep you thinking about their next move...not your average stupid robot flyer...and the backgrounds are so realistic on my iPad that sometimes I crash my plane because I am lost watching the scenery and not the enemy :) With several unlock able planes and scores of different missions you will be finding yourself replaying this one a bunch! Great game, and a very responsive developer!

Great fun
TBhgh

I like how it handles it is fun and a great diversion for me

Great!..needs tweaking and it'll be better
Dat42

4 star fun for WW2 air war aficionados or fans of the old Wings of Fury game but with more campaign and plane options. Visually, it's almost there but needs tweaking. Flight control should handle like wings of fury and less like Atari's Combat! Icons could use work too. Sound and music are good.

Good not great

Well, I give this four stars...but so want to give it 5. It feels unpolished - short missions, awkward navigation...but on the plus side, it also "feels" like this game is worth watching for upgrades. PROS Playable and bug-free "flight" controls are pretty good! Use of complicated aerial forces such as drag, gravity, lift... SFX are good CONS Short missions VFX are unpolished Navigation is awkward and doesn't seem as intuitive as it could be They have an FW.58 labeled as an Me-110* *Geeks are going to notice this. All in all, I'm glad I bought the game but will hope for updates. I wanted to give it 3.5 stars but opted for the 4. :)
