Backgammon is a board game for two players in which the playing pieces are moved according to the roll of dice. A player wins by removing all of his pieces from the board. There are many variants of backgammon, most of which share common traits. Backgammon is a member of the tables family, one of the oldest classes of board games in the world.
Although luck plays an important role, there is a large scope for strategy. With each roll of the dice a player must choose from numerous options for moving his checkers and anticipate possible counter-moves by the opponent. Players may raise the stakes during the game. There is an established repertoire of common tactics and occurrences.
Acey-deucey is a variant of backgammon in which players start with no checkers on the board, and must bear them on at the beginning of the game. The roll of 1-2 is given special consideration, allowing the player, after moving the 1 and the 2, to select any doubles move of his choice. A player also receives an extra turn after a roll of 1-2 or of doubles.
Like chess, backgammon has been studied with great interest by computer scientists. Owing to this research, Advanced Backgammon was created with highly complex learning algorithms, capable of beating world-class human players.

One of the worst apps I’ve ever encountered. For one, it’s balky. Then there’s the ignorance of the basic rules of the game. Also, it’s lacking in the features that other backgammon apps have — such as ongoing scoring, plus ability levels for your computer opponent. I trounced the computer every time, sometimes because it made horrible choices.
This app is just okay. It is a little buggy, does not seem to have a good undo capability, and the AI is not that great either. I was hoping for a really good AI that would be expert challenging, but the moves it picks are questionable. Also, sometimes it seems to move on its own for me, which I don't like and cant undo.
I finally found the worst app ever. I can't begin to list everything that's wrong with this app other than to say this is my first bad review.
this is definitely one of the most poorly executed Apps and the Acey deucey is for a non US version as far as I can tell I am upset that I wasted my dollar!
Good game, cheap-looking graphics. If another game offered acey deucey, I'd be playing it.
This was not the version of Acey Deucey that I am looking for. The comments about the User Interface are correct - very poor. The rules also seem different than I am accustomed to. It seems that you have to put all of your pieces on the board before you can venture out from there and a roll of 1-2 (Acey-Deucey) gives you the 1-2 move but then you roll a single dice for the doubles that you get - you don't select the doubles of your choice. The bottom line is that if you are looking for the "Navy Version" of Acey Deucey this is not it! I can usually tolerate a different version but NOT this one. I, too, would like my $0.99 back but maybe the developer can use the money to program the Navy version that I want.
Wasted my dollar. Couldn't figure out how to play the ace deucey option, which is what I wanted to play.
