ABC Alphabet Phonics Coloring is a great color by letter app geared towards preschoolers learning to recognize the alphabet. Each letter, both upper case and lower case, is presented with a coloring by letter page, where you get to fill it in with your choice of colors. I think that this not only teaches open experimentation with learning a sense of color, but also gives kids a chance in learning to follow directions and recognize patterns whilst learning the alphabet. I love the alphabet song in the beginning and kids can further refine pointing and 1:1 correspondence skills. I do wish that you had the option at the end to really mix up the letters so that you could include many letters on the coloring page - perhaps as an add on pack? This way kids could learn to generalize and truly integrate the material. Recommended.
In this app, your little one, can learn the ABC song, and tap on any letter to color in the letter in the form of a puzzle picture, in which all of the pieces have that letter in each section, reinforcing the letter recognition. This is a neat app for kids working on letter recognition.
Simple, good for differentiating between lowercase and uppercase letters- good for visual motor skills. I am surprised there is no parental lock in place though so wouldn't recommend this- I got to the App Store through a link in the app. For this age group there absolutely needs to be one.
