Nice job

I guess there really is an app for everything, now I have a formulary in my pocket, pretty cool. Everything works well on both my iPhone and iPad. The app does everything it says it does, good job. Just wanted to add that the update is really nice, the new calculators are cool!

More exotics?

Wildwood Artistry

This application is very helpful, however including more exotics in the hematology and normals would be a beneficial reference. Some basic primate levels as well as more avian would be e greatly appreciated update

very useful application

OVVH

This is a useful program which I I have been using to access drug doses and perform calculations. It gets the formulary onto my phone where it is quite useful. If I am not at the hospital and need a dose, it is right there on my phone. There is a notes section which is nice. I would like to see a place where a person could insert their own medicines with doses and use the calculator functions. Thank you. I do recommend this application as it helps me in my practice. Bravo to the person who did all the work to make this program a reality. Frank Kocher

Crap App

Dangerous! There needs to be an indication of which animal the doses are intended for! Acetaminophen is toxic to cats! I have taken a course in Vet Pharmacology and this app is garbage!!!

Wonderful App

I use this app daily, the calculators are very useful. Formulary and Hematology sections are great for quick reference, dosages are marked with C or D for cat or dog. I didn't find the X-Rays real useful, but perhaps they are for some people, they don't bother me being there though. This app was recommended to me by a friend, and I recommend it to others!

Ok

App is okay, there needs to be a distinction between dog and cat dosages that is more clear. Otherwise mistakes could be made. Also a dog and cat emergency drug calculator where you put in cat or dog and then weight and you get doses for CPR in one list similar to ICU sheets. The radiographs are kinda a joke and mostly useless if you have any formal training. I do like the conversion and CRI calculators. The formulary is useful but I feel that I have to check doses in plumb because of the lack of species distinction. Also the drugs could have more info such as use with caution in liver failure etc or side effects include....these things would help make the formulary more useable and safe

The app is OK but very limited in information. More like a .99 cent application.

Ok, but weak in several areas

Although this is a handy app, there are some major weaknesses. The general hematology values are ok, but you should still use whatever reference values your lab or equipment provide. Many of the calculators are handy, but also fairly simple. My main complaints are with the formulary. First, it is lacking many drugs that are regularly used in veterinary medicine, and also doesn't always provide dosages for parenteral routes, only PO. Second, you can not search by trade name. Say you want to look up dosages for Metacam, but don't remember the drug name...too bad. When you search for Meloxicam the trade name Metacam shows up under it, but you can't search for it. Also, acepromazine is only found under acetylpromazine, which most people in the US don't use. I've had this app for over a year and was really hoping for some updates, especially to the formulary, but have been sadly disappointed. If the formulary was improved and updated regularly, I'd probably give the app four stars, but as it stands, 2 is probably generous.

Not what I had expected

i cant find a name

The calculator section has been very useful, but the X-ray section is very limited and almost useless. Also, this app is missing many drugs that are commonly used. Another issue is that you are unable to search for drugs by trade name, it is usually listed under the drug, but you can not search for it. It seems a little expensive for what it provides.
