"This app has been the perfect motivator in helping me train for my first 5k"
- Lynda Stevens
"I love working out with this app. Music plays while I'm jogging and the voice over tells you to walk/run, no need to keep track of time yourself. Gps works great, I've never had a problem with this app. I highly recommend it!"
- Delia Ronson
"I tried several until I found this one. Love that I can customize it to play and do what I want and it's very flexible when wanting to repeat days :) Have recommended it to many people!!"
- Jessica Adler
Get fit with the 5K fitness training app from FitKit! This program has helped thousands of new runners move from the couch to the finish line. Just spend around 30 minutes, three times a week, for 8 weeks, and you'll be ready to finish your first 5K (3.1 mile) race!
Enjoy your favorite music while you train and follow the program’s simple voice alerts. All you need to do is press “start” and you’re ready to go. The voice alerts will tell you when to walk and run. The app even tracks your running history so that you can monitor your progress.
Why should you use this app? Get access to:
- A trainer approved 8 week program
- An enjoyable way to listen to your favorite music as you run
- Easy voice alerts
- An automatic history log and progress tracker
Note: continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

While I appreciate that this free app has included the whole couch to 5k weekly plans, I don't like the sound options. Without headphones, you can't hear the alerts from the phone speakers like you can with the 5k Runner app.
This app is my best personal trainer and I am on week 5 and close to achieve 5K soon.
I am not running a race but still this app has got much value to me as this helps me in my daily morning exercise. I have started to learn to run and its guiding me a lot. It’s a good handy app with a nice interface.
This app is decent but I have found all of these 5K and 10K apps use the exact same routine. This app I have had problems with cutting off after finishing my run and so my history is empty even though I have been using the app for weeks. I would recommend just use one of the free apps, because they accomplish the same thing.
I've been using it for a week and really like the simplicity of it. Does what it needs to do.
This is very easy to do and requires no thinking. I love the motivation it gives me. I will recommend this to all my friends.
I have been using it for like 3 weeks and it works well unless my phone goes into sleep mode. Also, I can't figure out how to make it work for me on a treadmill or elliptical trainer since it relies on GPS.
This training app over is great it's really helped me slowly get back into running without injuring myself. I just wish that when you do a day more than once it would accumulate both workouts. So I can see my grand total of the two days (or more) of the same workout together. Instead of it erasing the original days workout. I like doing the same day/weeks workout more than once so I feel strong enough and have the confidence in stepping up to the next week. Maybe it could post both days side by side and show a date of when you completed that day!? But, overall I have totally recommended this app to those who want to slowly get back into running or prepare to do a 5k. ?
