Where is the back button?
cezargiosan

Good app, nice 3D rendering. I think the app UI could be substantially improved by a simple "back" button. Now, once you move to another section (e.g., by following a link) there is no way to quickly get back to the previous one. Instead you have to go to the main screen, and start again from there. And that time adds up quickly.

I have successfully used the app in neuroscience courses as a supplemental aide. It is very helpful to students. Today I was informed that an upgrade was available for a .99. Certainly, I selected the upgrade immediately. I have not spent a great deal of time today with the app. Perhaps I am confusing this app with another resource—IT IS after all, Summer term! Here is my concern, although the visuals and the 3 D rotations are —as always— excellent- along with showing sub systems in relation to major brain components, all very good, with clear taxonomy-I seem to be missing the brief information on the functions of the varied parts of the brain. Please clarify , am I associating this feature and the information I expected to see with another resource entirely or is there a navigational step that I am missing on the upgrade ? Thank you kindly!

Why is the pineal gland missing it is even mentioned

Update ASAP
MrJohnnyLeo

Good app, but needs to update. The UI is old and does not work well with the new iPad and also it needs to update the information in every brain structure.

Pretty basic
Dranorter

The way it switches between brain areas (page turning animation) makes it hard to really compare location. The app will highlight 29 different brain areas — you switch between them by clicking on the list entry, and you can’t navigate by clicking directly on the brain area in the 3D view. The ordering of the brain areas in the list isn’t particularly intuitive (it’s alphabetical). 29 brain areas is not enough. Where are V1, V2, V3, etc.? Where’s the fusiform gyrus? Neuroscience is a field where we don’t know what the correct objects to be discussing really are. The app ought to distinguish between “neuroarchitechtonic regions” and things like sulcus/gyrus based regions (don’t know the right term). And for didactic purposes, a drawing of the motor homonculus and sensory homonculus would be fun.

Very difficult to exit out of
Kate060

I love this app - although it’s just not very user friendly (or at least for me). I can never exit out of it - I have the new iPhone and there is not home button. So you swipe up to exit apps but this app does not allow you to close it that way. It’s very frustrating so I have to delete it.

Great for neuropsychology. Do Not Upgrade!
MsBlondiePirate

Absolutely FANTASTIC app for graduate students in psychology, clinical psychology, and neuroscience! BEST BRAIN APP. I absolutely love it. It’s great for studying for the psychology GRE also. BUT, DO NOT UPGRADE. The upgrade was terrible. I was happy to pay for the upgrade, and I had to delete it and reinstall the old version. All my neuropsych friends said and did the same thing: upgraded then had to downgrade. App designers, why? :( You have a giant world of grad psychology student who would gladly give you their money if the paid version was actually better. Stick with the basic version, peoples, and you will be very happy!!

Only landscape mode

I love this so much I swear by it and tell everyone to open it.... but it’s a nightmare to have this app open on split screen on the iPad pros. Makes it frustrating to have to keep opening and closing the app for reference.

not the best-phs
Mr. Stroup

I had to get this for my psychology class when we modeled a brain out of play dough. It wasn’t the easiest to use

It would be perfect if there was a place to quiz us over different parts of the brain and their function.
