Song SEO/Recommendation engine needs work. Some bugs as well - especially on desktop

Love having hifi sound and at $10/month for students like myself is a big win. The only complaints I have are the app freezes and crashes sometimes and the song recommendation engine is far behind Spotify and Apple Music. Wish the app would incorporate more social aspects and features on the side of community playlist sharing and friend connections through Facebook like Spotify does. The biggest issue with the app is it seems to not be programmed to find the most popular song by title and many times I have to type the artists name as well even on very popular tunes.

Perfect Music Source

Everything from the curated and/or recommended playlists to the interface, Tidal has been the perfect music source for me for more than 5 years.

Literal Cashgrab

As soon as I downloaded the app I was bombarded with payment options; naturally I wasnt sure if I wanted to do that yet so I skipped it and selected some of my favourite artists. After that I tried playing some music — no luck. Seeing a tag next to it that said ‘Master,’ I assumed it was a premium option. Disappointed but not surprised, I found a song I liked which didnt have the tag. I was still unable to play the song, and was given another payment method screen. Confused, I tried to play *any* song regardless of tag, all which produced the same results. You will NOT be able to use this app without paying! Makes it an even worse choice than Spotify.

First review of a new music service

I love it!!! I have been with apple since it’s original launch for the iTunes service. And the freedoms in your service put their service to shame. And while apple is good for customer service, your ease of use and songs I found on your service really blew me away. It’s like I rediscovered why music is so amazing to me. Thank You, and great work!!

The Best

Don’t waste the money

I loved tidal. Lately though. , Hifi is awful . Whatever that is. The daily discovery and Mixes rarely matches my music taste as if it can’t handle someone liking variety. It use to be better at it but idk what happening lately. When launching the app I always (always) have to close and relaunch for it to work. But it didn’t use to do that either. Some artist just aren’t on here. I do love the cross fade option to blend the beginning and end of songs. I like the make my own playlist features. The search function isn’t great like you can’t search a title and specific artist so if it doesn’t come up in the search by either title or artist you have to dig for it. So that’s annoying. Someone was supposed to reach out but that was a week ago. I canceled the subscription. It’s just not worth it. And now I’m stuck with Apple Music but tidal was my first love and they f’d it up .

No Alexa

Why is Alexa/Echo integration only available in the USA?!?!? This is very myopic of Tidal. Many folk use a cellphone via Amazon Echo devices to control their hifi or home theatre music system. So, in the meantime I’ll continue to use Spotify.
