SmallFish Chess for Stockfish Reviews

Good neat app but...

I am a basic player, and use this app to analyze the tactics of an app chess tactics. What really frustrates me is the lack of a button by which we can click forward/backwards the moves. It is possible to do it but I find it very complicated way. Thanks

I find SmallFish difficult to navigate(HIARCS app is very intuitive but not free of charge). Also I can’t find how to have it display how many nodes(positions) it searches per second, while in continuous analysis mode, as the regular Stockfish (and HIARCS)app does. Stockfish is free and easy to use. Another issue is that I can’t see whether the endgame tablebase I downloaded is installed on SmallFish. Or how to install it or how to verify that SmallFish is using them. But If true that it’s Elo ~3300, that’s pretty cool.

This has been incorporated into the LockWood ChessTactics app. Very helpful for checking if tactics are sound.

why iOS 10 only?

This is the best mobile chess program on the planet... but, why limit it to iOS 10 only? I have older devices (original iPad mini & 5th-gen iPod), both of which are stuck at iOS 9.3.5 now. Why should they be deprived of future SmallFish updates? It's just a game of chess... nothing to do with new "features" in iOS 10.

But latest version seems broke. Only the first digit of blacks win percentage appears now that draw percentage appears. There is no button in analysis mode for multi thread as described. Program makes stupider mistakes at average play level than past versions.

A very powerful and useful app. There's a bug that I'd hoped the update would address where the analysis is stuck on the bottom of the screen in setup position mode.

I look at SmallFish as a pretty good servant of the likes of Abraham, Moses, and David ... that was before the update ... Now the SmallFish has seen more and more lines it can't lose at world championship level unless the Chosen One was on the opposite side of the board ... SmallFish is a living game and no mortal stands a chance against it ... but there is a God amongst us and he will bring the small fish in upon his nets ... You all remember the man that did the "moonwalk " on the Sea of Galilee ...

Fun chess app. The slider showing the score is a GUI fun feature for me. That way it's easy to spot the point that my poor (but once top of the line) dedicated chess computer blows it, when pitted against this very strong "Stockfish 8" engine based chess app. There doesn't seem to be a "permanent brain" (thinking on opponent's time) option. Or am I missing this somewhere?
