Just buy it

CelticWalker92

Exiled Kingdoms is a great game, obviously. I would liken it to if Dark Souls and Diablo had pity sex with each other and this game was their bastard, but that would be a little rude. It is an excellent game, especially played on hard mode, because you need to pick your fights wisely, avoiding enemies that are too high for you to fight, or steering clear of groups of lower level opponents. The undead are uncharacteristically hard in this game, which I very much appreciate, and the dry sarcasm also makes me laugh much more than it should. Just buy it.

Pleasantly surprised

I downloaded another RPG game in the App Store and found this one in the recommended section, I ended up playing this game for hours instead of the game that I sought out initially. It definitely has a retro vibe, but that is something to be loved. Also the developers seem very attentive and, for what it’s worth, quite humble, it goes without saying that I almost immediately purchased the full license to the game. I don’t regret it at all, this game has hours and hours of fun to be had. Thank you guys so much, I look forward to playing more of your games! <3 Edit: Wow! I just learned that this entire game was made by one person. Good on you, man! I’m blown away.

Reminds me of Ultima Online

I just started playing in Casual mode, which is still plenty difficult by the way. I wish Ultima Online was mobile, loved playing this immediately. Waiting to see how it plays out before giving 5 stars.

Fun but frustrating

I’m a sucker for RPG’s so I was delighted to find a game that doesn’t depend on the old “pay to play” mechanics. With a one-time fee for the full game this app is already leaps and bounds above other similar games. And if not completely open-world there are plenty of quests to hold one’s attention for quite some time. That being said, the game can be very punishing at points. Grinding for XP can get a little monotonous and the warrior class is the only on in my experience that isn’t infuriatingly low on HP. Also: any setting above “casual” will end in tears.

It’s a great game. I’m a bad reviewer. I have been trying to come up with a series of three compliments, but I am having trouble coming up with good ones that really fit it, so here it goes anyway. It is witty, like the kind of witty that is not like laugh out loud witty, but it may put a slight smirk on yer face. It’s made by a small team/one guy which is pretty kool and makes you forgive its difficulty and certain character in a certain tower. Most lasterly, idk it free ‘n stuff for a rather scrumptious amount.

Amazing, with only minor quibbles. A+ game.

This game is incredibly good. It has a huge amount of content to explore, quests to take on, npcs to interact with, equipment to gather, and combats with different monsters. The controls work well, although occasionally it can be a bit tough during fighting. A few minor quibbles- it’s annoying to have to fight endless battles when moving between cities- could maps have less monsters appear on them after they have been mostly cleared once? Gaining levels with a more less grind would be good too. Also, while the vault system is useful, just giving a junk bag for heroes to store their kit in would be more fluid and lead to less having to traipse across several maps to find a city because I put my anti frost kit in the vault and encountered a frost cave. Additionally, while the journal is helpful for storing quest missions and revealed information, could this be transposed onto the maps too so as to make it easier to find quest locations after you have been told their location. Also, maybe five recommended minimum hero level numbers for each map section, which would help with players from accidentally running their hero into a level 15 map zone when just level 3, for example. Maybe check out Spider Software’s Avernum series for some ideas on how to do the junk bag and map quest transposition. I do somewhat wish combat was turn based but the real time fighting works generally well. These minor quirks aside, this game is spectacular. I have played for many hours now and it’s depth reminds me of Darklands. A must buy for any serious rpg player. One final note - the game starts off very hard: but don’t let that put you off - it’s worth persevering, really.

Great game but hard

Not difficult in a bad way, enough to keep you interested. Really liking this game.

The best RPG on iPhone

AWS2 Rice

It’s simply the best. I downloaded this just before deployment and I played it consistently for 4-5 months. So much to do. Anxiously looking forward to them extending their map.

Stretched Out of Proportion on iPad

Looks terrible on 4:3 iPad screen. Letterbox option or zoom out to show more game real estate. Something needs to be done. Amateurish implementation ruins a great game.

One of the best mobile games out there

Brodacious the Great

I’m usually not a fan of 2 dimensional fantasy themed rpgs, but this game is one of my favorite games. This is basically Skyrim but 2D, with an expansive open world featuring engaging main story quests, plenty of side quests, the best controls for a mobile game I have ever seen, a world that has a lot of depth, and an excellent payment model (free accounts can play up to level 8 in a huge swath of land full of things to do, but it is only a tiny fraction of the whole game world). Also there are no ads. My one warning is that this game is shockingly difficult even on the easiest difficulty, so hit that quick save button as much as possible
