BBC for many years was my first read every morning for balanced concise news. Sadly it’s become the latest victim to slanted liberal groupthink omitting moderate or conservative views. What a shame for journalistic integrity.

I used to love the BBC but the notifications have really bothered me lately. There was no need to do a breaking news notification on a minor Prince Harry story that happened years ago. In the meantime, there current major news that don’t get breaking news notifications what so ever and I have to find out through other news outlets.

I have reluctantly deleted this app from my iPhone because when I now tap on the article photos to view them separately from the text, the first couple of photos are sharp but the remaining photos are blurry and unviewable. Since pictures really are worth a thousand words, this is very disappointing.

Has an option in settings to turn off targeted ads, but it does nothing in my country. iOS tracking setting is also turned off but it has no effect on this app.

I really dislike the BBCs news platform’s video capabilities. I finally just deleted it because every time I want to watch one of their videos they pull a bait and switch. Commercials commercials commercials. Ugh. See you never BBC.

BBC is now not different from many other news organizations. BBC used to be not leaning into any political or ideological side but now they clearly do and I no longer trust them. The world needs a new “clean” news providers that can be trusted.

For the most part it’s a good app but I really wish I had more control over what is considered breaking news worthy of a notification. For example, I have been getting DAILY notifications for at least a week over Novak Djokovik’s visa. This is not important world news. I get that BBC is British based but this is not worthy of blowing up my phone. I do not care about a tennis player. 30 people dying in a landslide in Indonesia is important. The Australian open is not.
