Too often the video is ‘not available in your region’ (i’m in the US - and this app is from the US appstore) and does not play. BUT this is not apparent when you click on the video, until you watch the 10seconds of ad - THEN get the message that the vodeo wont play. Nice waste of time. How about indicating the video wont play so you dont waste time clicking on it, or Immediately when you click on it?

Over the last few months, the ads have become intrusive and force autoplay as you scroll through the app. Loud music starts playing automatically and you end up trying to close that rather than reading and enjoying the news. Terrible. Please fix this.

Your app doesn’t have ability to increase font size. You obviously don’t want older readers to use the app. Makes no sense. Other news apps have larger adjustable font. I’ve stopped using because hard to see if I don’t have my readers

Some of the best journalism available however the ad designs are the worst I’ve seen. They frequently upset the layout of news stories and when playing before a video prevent the actual news video from playing. Also please show the ‘content not available in your country’ message BEFORE the 30 second unskippable video ad. I’d happily pay for an ad free version to avoid this kind of nonsense as it really detracts from an otherwise great news service.

Please make a way to turn off captions when English is the spoken language of a video. The captions take up a lot of space on a mobile screen and really take away from the over all quality of a news story.

I was so tired of the news coverage in the US. It was always about the right or left thinking. Now that I read, watch and listen to the BBC, I am so much better informed about everything across the world. I tell everyone that I can about getting the BBC app.

While I love looking over the articles, the app has not been improved since its inception. It’s very annoying to scroll through the long list of available articles, find one to read, then when finished reading and going back to the list, the app takes you back to the beginning and forces you to scroll again through everything that has already been scrolled through and read. I wish the app would take you back to where you were on the list. There must be an algorithm for that, easily inserted into the app program.
