Why has the Elsewhere section remained unchanged for over a year? Same pictures and stories, frozen. Remove it if you are not intending to update daily. Otherwise love the app.

I use the BBC news app regularly to stay updated about what’s happening around the world. They’ve always had this annoying feature of an ad appearing suddenly where a news heading is. Probably to trick you into clicking on it. I’ve learned to ignore it. But just today, when I opened the app, an audio ad automatically started playing even though my phone was on mute and “autoplay videos” was off on the BBC news app. There doesn’t seem to be any way to stop it, except closing the app. Even the mute button on the ad doesn’t work. I’ve just deleted the app cause I don’t want to get into an embarrassing situation where audio starts playing automatically in unwanted situations.

Why does the BBC News need to know my location, browsing history, identifiers, and data usage? Also, the volume for the live audio is way to low. The max volume as it is, is maybe 50%-75% what it needs to be.

Impossible to watch a video without watching 20 seconds of nonsense ads trying to sell you some crap. Not sure how this aligns with BBC’s mission.

UK has around 67 million population and not even 50% fully vaccinated and it hardly mentions about it and on the side India with 1.2 billion population 300 millions vaccinated.. is trying to vaccinate as quickly as it can but shows negative news every days. What do you get out of this mudslinging news? Utter nonsense

i hate the current version with the latest update, i have to scroll through every story individually to find something i'm interested in. previous version i could see multiple articles at once so it was easier to pick what i wanted to read.

I generally really enjoy the BBC app. News has pretty timely and pertinent global coverage. I sometimes don’t like that the article titles are click-baity. For example upon closing and reopening the app you’ll get the same news articles with different titles and/or pictures - you may fall for it only to find it’s something you already read. Product feedback: Please add subtitles to your REEL and other videos. Not having them makes it impossible to watch anything at night for people who live/sleep next to others. Currently with no volume, you get no words or context.

Loud music blares every time I open the app and scroll past an advertisement. It is startling in the early morning when I read the news and I can’t take it anymore.
