In the newest version you can no longer sort emails by ‘flagged only’ which makes flagging emails completely pointless. I have not been receiving notifications for emails that I receive in the app. Also you can no longer click to expand details on who sent you an email you’re only able to see an icon and the name of the account. This means someone could possibly spoof an email to appear official while the actual email is clearly from a malicious email account.

So unhappy with this new update. The layout, the speed of going thru the emails, the space between older mail saved under new mail, seeing promotions at the top of the email instead of the actual body of the email...I’ve waited a few days to get used to it but it’s just not happening for me, sorry, I don’t like it.

Mail Alerts / Spam

Reinstalling the app didn’t fix the email push alerts. Sometimes they work but not always as when I manually check for mail and new messages load. The interface is much improved but there is a major increase in spam. Even on the website I can’t block specific spam email addresses as they are invalid. The recommended article does not help since the addresses are invalid. Why are you not blocking all this obvious spam email?

My AOL icon no longer shows me how many emails I have that need read. I’ve tried everything. Even going in to notifications and turning them off for the app and everything. I’ve never had this issue until recently.

This app was bad enough that I Thought about leaving and had in fact begun to transition off. Then one day — POOF! They overhauled it. And now it’s terrific. I guess in these unprecedented times, you should expect the unexpected.

How do I sort to access “unread”?

I avert my eyes away from the news page when signing on to AOL. Tired of the bias slant and fake news!! I’m thinking about switching to a different mail provider!

Contacts

Tried to write an email and there are no contacts listed. Much easier to tap on a name I can see than to try and type in names or addresses. I will be switching to a different email provider. Then I will have to change my email address in all of my accounts. I have been with AOL since this all began. I am so disappointed.

I like the new look but the notifications are not coming threw. No sound or anything.

This is huge. I can’t view my unread mail now. And the inbox only goes back a few days so I couldn’t find which emails weren’t read. I changed to another app and found my 5 unread emails. Really? How inconvenient..... I’m not going back to this app. They would have to notify me that it’s been fixed before I would consider trying it again.
