surprisingly subpar – Dropbox: Cloud & Photo Storage Review

I don’t understand Dropbox’s popularity. It might be among the best file hosting services, but the experience was still incredibly unsatisfactory. The web app is slow. The sync settings are confusing. The canceling button is in a non-obvious spot which wasted 20 minutes of my time trying to find it. For $20 a month, this shouldn’t be a worse experience than what I can build with a terminal and an S3 bucket. Perhaps I’ll try again in a few years, but Dropbox is still too unpolished for me.
