My most used app – Textastic Code Editor Review

It's not every day that I feel like I have to go and update my app reviews, but the newest update really made my life so much easier. I have an iPhone 6 Plus, and now I can easily keep a few different files open and switch between them quickly if I need anything. This has made working with many different files at once on my phone so much easier because I can always have them at my fingertips. I also appreciate the addition of the SSH client since I do use SSH. While it's not totally necessary for me, it is kind of nice to have. I also really appreciate how the app is under 20 MB. It's lean and doesn't use a lot of system resources, power, or space. I can type for up to 12 hours on my iPhone 6 Plus with a connected USB keyboard without charging. It's a welcome break from apps like Facebook that are now easily a quarter GB in size and use huge amounts of system resources and power. I first purchased both the original iPad and iPhone versions of Textastic when I was working on code for a project. I upgraded to version 6 as soon as it came out. For me this app is a must have because it recognizes so many different kinds of code and text files. I use it for a lot of my homework assignments and writing papers in LaTeX. I even use it for storing short snippets of text and taking notes. It also works well with VoiceOver which is a huge plus. I love the little extra keys that sit on top of the regular keyboard because it helps you type in special symbols more quickly. The themes are so neat because you can customize it make it look the way you like so that it doesn't make your eyes uncomfortable. I often use this app with a USB keyboard on my iPhone 6 Plus, and that works well because I can use a lot of familiar keyboard shortcuts to speed things up.
