Debatably The Worst Mobile Game – Puzzle & Dragons (English) Review

First off, this game doesn’t require much strategy, it requires luck. If you don’t get lucky Rare Egg pulls, skyfalls, or dungeon drops: you will get nowhere. As almost every mobile game is today, this is pay-to-win. But this game redefines “pay-to-win”. Their sub-currency “Magic Stones” allow you to do a REM (Rare Egg Machine) pull, restore stamina, or continue in a dungeon. Of course, they can be gained in-game through dungeons and infrequent event gifts; however, they can be purchased en masse using money irl. The game begins fun enough, then descends to a game of logging in every day to attempt to get what you want, get a drop from a dungeon, or upgrade a monster. It gets hellishly repetitive. There is Stamina to limit your gameplay, unless you get a rank up or spend a stone. The dungeon aspect of this game isn’t anything special: match orbs to make your scantily clad women or dragons kill things. Of course the opponent(s) can mess around with the board with varying effects. The opponents themselves can also give themselves effects that can vary from healing to negating any form of status. The worst part of dungeons is “binding”. The opposing monsters can bind your monsters for a certain amount of turns, therefore making them unable to attack, use skills, contribute stats like RCV, or even use leader skills. Almost everything does this, not just bosses. There are awakenings to negate this, but the opposing monsters also have the ability to negate your awakenings. In the end, this game is a luck-based dungeon crawler that can be played for free, but spending just makes it easier. Aside from all that it’s fairly enjoyable.
