Well... – Fruit Ninja Classic Review

Hmm. Before I go into my current review of the game, let me go over how the game has progressed over the years. First off: game is created, it's a sensation. Slice fruit with your fingers to earn points? Do wacky challenges to unlock cool new blades and awesome backgrounds? Play throughout multiple different modes? Awesome! After you finish unlocking everything, you still have fun on the game as a time-consumer. It was definitely fun. Then the update came. Hoo boy. Hey, what's that fruit? Y'know, the glowing piece of fruit shaped like a star? Let's slice that and check it out. What? Star fruit earned?... What's that mean? And why are all of my blades gone? And all of my achievements?! What?! Next update: please gimme back my stuff... When it arrives: Now, lemme check my blades and see what happOOOOOHHHHNOOOOOWHERESMYSTUFFNOTAGAIN ETC. Leveling up. Each blade and background is unlocked... Throughout level up. Why? WHY? And each blade has a different ability? Why? I liked it when they all worked the same way... What if I want to have a shadow blade act like the ability on a cloud kicker blade? What then? Here's my current review: I picked this game up two years after a horrible update and six years after the original release. I have to say, playing this again isn't as bad as I thought. Sure, I'm kinda MAD that every single blade I worked hard for is now in the trash and I have to reset, but no biggie. My problems are these: 1. Power-Ups: Cool idea, except... You get these by doing challenges. In the free version, you get STAR FRUIT (a feature NO LONGER IN THIS GAME) AND level-up stuff. I think they reversed what should be happening here. 2. Free Version VS Full Version: Tournament mode, where you unlock limited-time blades? Only Free Version. How to get them on full version? Buy them for an extra $4.99 per blade. Yup. Minigames? On the free version. Quicker level-up features? STILL FREE VERSION. I like that you guys put everything cool on the free version and all... It's just that... PEOPLE PAID MONEY FOR THE FULL GAME AND THEY GET WHAT SHOULD BE THE FREE VERSION INSTEAD. WHY? WHHHYYYY?! 3. Star Fruit... And Lack of: Sooo... If people bought star fruit with the in-app purchase thing BEFORE you guys updated (again) and you updated without compensating them, then you can see how people would be mad. Just, whatever you do, don't screw up with another update and then wipe the slate clean again... It's not fun for the rest of us.
