Less useful than other apps – Chess Tactics and Lessons Review

I am becoming very annoyed at the large number of problems that have more than one possible solution. This happens often with mate problems where longer mates are possible, but there are other problems where an alternate continuation is valid. I care very little if there is a single mate in 3 when there are abundant mate in 4's, UNLESS the problem tells me to look for a mate in 3. If I am playing a tournament, it isn't my goal to find the shortest mate, but just mate. Long time ago I wrote the author about this problem but he didn't care. So the app is less useful for pattern recognition than some other tactics apps. It is however fun to be able to create your own tactics and then read comments, good and bad, that others make about the tactics.
