Small, powerful , quick text app
BlackPearlie

I love this app! Super-quick launch, simple interface, and Word compatibility makes zwrite my go-to app for writing fast, anywhere. Basic can definitely be better. I mean, I have Word on all my devices, but feature-heavy apps come at a price — slow launches and a fat footprint. Not with zwrite. It’s small, it’s stable. It’s for writing. Don’t let the old-school interface fool you (I happen to like it, but could see how others wouldn’t). Function over beauty here in the pared down interface (which does NOT scream, “Look at me everybody! I’m a minimalist!” Thank gawd.) Want the bullets, superscript, and columns? Use Word. Need to write fast? Use zwrite.

Looks fun

Like to see search button & Query button too. Have lots of characters & I’m going to need to copy & recopy the same character. But it looks fun. Like to use it in all my devices ( Dropbox ) a security lock would be helpful too. Never used one. This one, id use on the go. Looks like fun.

Zwrite App worthless
PhilofSci

I love the zWrite on my MacBook Pro. I use it to plan all my writing projects. But (despite representations to the contrary), no way to open my projects from my laptop. I cannot figure out how to import or open any document that is not created new on my iPad. I have 25 years of research and work on my novel on my laptop and cannot get on my iPad. Don’t bother with the iPad zWrite.

Zack Smith does interesting stuff

The one-star review made me hesitate; but then I checked out some of the developer's free apps and liked what I saw. PhilofSci needs to go to iOS school, because if you can find your rtf file in Files, you can import via Share | Copy to zWrite. Export is only via email, which is so 2005, but I do my rtf authoring in script anyway, so I don't really need export. The one cool thing I haven't seen elsewhere is the ability to have multiple files open at once. Another nice touch is that the font and fontsize under the cursor is displayed at the top of the document. It's worth mentioning that the font picker does not have the complete list of fonts, but if you import a file containing a different font, it displays just fine. Four stars because of the features/price ratio.
