Word Unknown

Word Unknown takes inspiration from both hangman and mastermind to create an incredibly fun and simple word game experience. Your objective is to guess a randomly generated word in as few moves as possible using both lexical and deductive logic. Once a legal guess is made, you'll get X's and O's in response. Each X represents a correct letter in the correct position, and each O represents a correct letter in the wrong position. There are five different difficulties (word lengths) to choose from and a daily challenge for each so you can compete with friends! Best of all, the game is 100% free and open source!

Seems a lot like Wordle
Pphead173948

This seems like a precursor to Wordle. It’s an amazing game that someone seems to have stolen to create Wordle. I hope the creator gets the proper credit.

Some words ARE unknown
fan748

I enjoy the game but have discovered the occasional “buggy” word—my guesses lead to a specific word but the game does not let me enter that word. Two examples are “rape” and “Cuban”. For “rape” I got 4 correct letters for “pear”, “pare”, “reap”, and “aper”; 3 X’s for “rapt” and “tape” but was prevented from entering “rape”.

Fun, addictive, with a bug
Nuutla

Way too addictive! There is a bug preventing one from guessing a proper noun and yet I have gotten stuck in games without end where the word was clearly “Hebrew,” “Muslim,” or “Mormon.”

Fun and Challenging!
TheEpicTriforce

Very fun and makes you use your full vocabulary!

I can see it having real educational value.

Fun?
Samiza?

Not as good as Synonymy, but still fun for wordophiles like me.
