A K Q J 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2.
The player to the dealer's left leads to the first trick. Any card may be led. The other players, in clockwise order, each play a card to the trick. Players must follow suit by playing a card of the same suit as the card led if they can; a player with no card of the suit led may play any card. The trick is won by the highest trump in it - or if it contains no trump, by the highest card of the suit led. The winner of a trick leads to the next. When all 13 tricks have been played, the side which won more tricks scores 1 point for each trick
they won in excess of 6. The partnership which first reaches 7 points wins the game.
Discovered Iād played it too often when I kept getting the same hand over & over!:(
I really enjoy playing this for a simple game of Whist. It does have a few bugs to work out. The scoring does not always function properly. My opponents scored 7 points, but the game kept going and I won the game. Also, shouldn't a trump always come out? Sometimes there is no trump suit. Finally, the dealer does not determine the trump as far as I can tell. Anyway, will still play it, but hopes bugs are worked out. Thanks!
This apps random number engine is not written for an ipad. I played this on intel processors and have seen it play better and more fairly.
GASP games used to be fun. Addictive. And enjoyable. No more. The 'update' sure killed all that. Now you not only have to contend with an ad at the end of each game.... there is volume and selling. Get out of that AND then it flips to your Safari and you get another ad. You've got to close that window and consider is all of that worth it? For me: NO. I'm out of there. No more GASP games. And what does GASP get? Probably a lot of people pulling up stakes and leaving. AND... why are there no reviews and it says they don't have enough reviews to post. Really? Interesting. Byebye.
I can say without a doubt, this is probably the best whist app out here. Unbelievable, it's free too! Also, really love now that the interface is more user friendly! Nice animations! Thank you and keep up the good work!
This app is ridiculous. They cards are not random at all. Your opponents are consistently dealt the better hands with all the aces and high cards. On top of that, your partner plays bad on purpose. For example, if you're about to win s book with an King, your partner will go ahead and waste her ace for no reason. The opposing players do not ever do that. I guess there is no other way to code different difficulty levels other than to rig the game against to to varying degrees
The game description says it has recently (Feb 2016) been "completely redesigned" for performance. Can we get the previous version back please? This "new" version is so buggy. It freezes in the middle of play. Animation is slow. Graphics are improperly sized (overlap each other). Game inexplicably switches to main menu during play. Game does not end properly when players achieve 8 or higher. This new version seems like a very premature release.
Edited: I just deleted the game and dropped my rating to 1 star. The longer I played, the worse the hands I was dealt became. Just not worth my time. I am a fan of Jane Austen and became curious about the game. It is fun, but there needs to be more explanation of the rules. From the "Help" section, I thought the game was over when a team reached 7 points. But the game continues. And sometimes trump isn't named. As a new player, I would appreciate a clearer explanation. Otherwise, I enjoy it.
In Whist (Free), the current version deals cards in real time. It is painfully slow. Previous versions did not have this problem. Your partner in Whist (Free) plays poorly and it is not only frustrating, it detracts from the fun. She trumps my cards or holds onto good cards until they can't be played. Bring back the older versions.
