"Forget rummaging through in-depth profiles and messaging back and forth. If two people are interested in each other, they're going on a date." - The L.A. Times

"Whim skips the whole messaging shenanigans to get you on more dates more efficiently and effectively." - Examiner

Whim sets up actual dates for you over the next seven nights. Tell the app when you're free, browse profiles and say whom you'd like to meet. When two people say "yes" to each other, we plan a date for you right away - right down to the time and place. With Whim, you skip the endless messaging, planning, and waiting around -- and instead go from phone to date in just a few taps!

Here’s how Whim works:

1. Real Time
Sign up for a date tonight, or any other night this week. You choose when and where on a personalized, real-time calendar.

2. Real People
Validated profiles with details like workplace, interests, and education level. Profile videos help your personality shine through.

3. Real Life
Real dates scheduled for you at vetted local hotspots with people you’ve pre-approved and want to meet.

It's currently free to download Whim and to go on dates! If you have a good time, we'll request a small, optional contribution afterward to help us keep the lights on.

Good concept, but way too early to start charging users

I like the concept of this app, but it asks you to pay after one week, which isn’t worth it because the match pool is really small at the moment.

Worthless & They Charge Monthly Fee

I downloaded this app thinking it sounded different and interesting! Hardly anyone on here. I had like 3 possibilities. Really??? Log in to take a look and see if any people on there yet. They now know that wanted money. That is laughable! You actually need users before you can charge for an app.

Dates, not pen pals.

Tonight, I had the privilege of getting to know a lovely woman on a real live date instead of chatting over text. This app takes the game out of online dating and helps you find a real connection. Highly recommend for anyone looking for more than just swipes and pen pals.

Real dates

It saves me so much time to get a real date. Not many people use it yet, it's both an advantage and disadvantage

Has Potential ...

I like the app. I have had one date. There is similarity with other dates. The woman has final control. However, in case there is a match but no convenient nights/days are available with your match - you are stuck, with no way to communicate to the actual person. This needs to be fixed. Looks like the dating pool is very small (or I am not getting matched!) But since the app is still accepting investment, I think they are still developing a dating pool. Please keep working on it. I like the app. Give it a 3.

does this even work?

I dl'd this on itunes and it doesn't open.

Interesting concept

I like the concept of the app, however even in its hometown of SF I was able to run out of matches in under an hour. Since then it has shown me no new profiles, which defeats the point of the app.

Decent concept, poor execution

The pool of prospects is really low. Tried it for two weeks and decided to stick with Bumble and OkCupid, as they have done a much better job of building a marketplace.

Genius!

Whim is a life saver - I get to choose who I want to meet, and then get set up on dates with them! So simple and so effective. Also - amazing high quality humans on here. Major yes.

Not enough users
Vicz007

Live in NYC with not much preference other than 6 mile distance. After the first week, it no longer presents me people. Of all the dating apps out there, this is one of the worst for me. The user base is too small
