I love and support WFMT. Wish this streaming App would work, but it keeps quitting. The station has a strong signal at my house, so why doesn't this work?

This is a nice redo of the app but there's a problem with the website access. When it displays the website page there's a large splash with an advertisement to download the app from the app store. Cannot navigate to a place to dismiss the splash so there is no access to the website. The only thing that can be doneis to hit the button to go to the app store to re-download the app. You need to fix this.

The latest version of this app is attractive but it won't stream the station. Instead it shows a blue line going around in a circle but the stream never starts up. I love WFMT but this app is useless.

I love WFMT do it surprises me that a station with such a great reputation has such a mediocre app. To wit: 1) It's unstable. The app just quits without warning. Now you hear it, now you don't. 2) No indication of what's on now, what's coming up, or what was on prior. They know how to do this, the WFMT television feed (seen on some PBS stations) offers all three. 3) A spinning circle? That's it? How average. 4) No clock radio functionality, sleep timer or wake up routine. WFMT could steal some design ideas from WQXR, which plays a great deal of WFMT content anyway.

I'm torn because I love the station, but the streaming is fragile and touchy. Unlike Pandora which, when audio is momentarily interrupted (phone call, alarm or any in-device audio instance) resumes its stream, alas poor sweet WFMT loses its grip and needs to be relaunched. Also while driving around Chicago (WFMT's home!) in my radio-less car, the signal reliably cuts out and it's too distracting to continually relaunch while driving. Really, a small price to pay for the miracle of free great radio on my phone. I'm just saying… -----Months later… Much time has passed, but the skittish streaming persists. Connection simply goes away. Relaunch, reset, reinstantiate the network. Nothing resuscitates the signal. Fragile, finicky. Which is odd, because the radio station is so pro and robust. Sigh. ----- About a year later… No improvement. The message I get is that it's not important to WFMT to have a working streaming presence.

I love WFMT. I used to listen live on my iPad from WFMT website using the browser. Installed this app, but won't play live stream. The circle thingy just keeps going around forever. Surprised when everything else about WFMT is world class.

Strange that I can stream HD movies on Netflix but can't get uninterrupted radio on my wifi. Have to assume it's simply not working. Digital streaming and HDradio aren't ideal for classical anyhow, makes instruments sound 'steely' like listening through a tin can. Rock music already is produced that way so 95% of the population doesn't care. Best is a HDradio you can force into analog mode. Only Macintosh makes one now ?

Full marks for beautiful simplicity in design. There's a big play button. Hit it, get music. Unfortunately the app frequently stops playing, requiring a manual restart. Does it need a bigger cache or better interrupt handling? Does WFMT need better servers?

For as much as I love the radio channel music and programs, the app is sadly disappointing. Suspect streaming, no titles, links that go nowhere etc. It's Chicago, what do you expect?
